Gas Prices vs Summer Job Out West Poll Question

So I am currently here in Detroit area wrapping up my fathers estate. I have been offered a seasonal job at a Zipline Place in Washington State.
I can either take the job knowing my gas expense is going to be around $700 to get there or I can just had back down to Houston Tx for the Summer and work with a friend that is definitely not a zipline job.
Any thoughts by those of you feeling the gasoline blues in your X?

I've only had two jobs I really loved and I'd have worked them for nothing if I didn't need the money. Sounds fun. I'd go.

Yeah. So, Houston sucks. No offense, but if my options were Washington state vs Houston, im gone to the trees. You could always sell the X I suppose, fly out and buy another. But, Houston is like what 1300 miles away from Detroit anyway, so whats the gas difference in driving to Washington?


Id make a road trip of it, taking pics and enjoying myself all the way.

Was a good partial summer at zipline course. End of June I head Yellowstone park to work a job at old faithful then late sept I got called to work hurricane fiona in puerto rico, then ian in florida. The X spent 4.5 months in a storage unit in boise idaho.
