I'm bored doing a little surfing on the web and I need some advice and opinions, so I figured why not ask my friends at XN. Wasn't sure where to post, this seems like the best place.
Since its 2015 that means I'm already thinking of what part of the country I want to see next. Now that I've traveled the past two years and have flown a few times, I'm kind of addicted. Now I have a goal to go somewhere new every year if possible.
Now that I've seen most all I want to see on the east coast, and since I've been a lifelong Cowboys fan and have always wanted to go to a Dallas home game, it looks like I'm going to try to go to Texas.
Obviously it is an enormous state and there is no way to see all it has to offer in a one week span, but thats what I'm working with. Fly into Dallas on Saturday, go to a Cowboys game Sunday. Then I would have 5 or 6 more days to do whatever. Brushing up on my geography with google maps, it looks like if I were to rent a car, I could easily make a few day trips. Dallas to Austin to San Antonio to Corpus Christi maybe. Looks like the longest drive out of those would be Dallas to Austin at around 3 hours, so thats doable.
I don't know much about Texas and have never been farther west than Birmingham AL, so this is all new to me. Any of you that live in the state (Johann comes to mind), or have spent some time in Texas, give me some tips or suggestions on what to expect and things to see. I'm open to anything, like I said a Cowboys game and a day in and around Dallas is basically all I'm working with right now.
Appreciate the input as always
