Fuel System Cleaning

I'm at the local oil change shop and the attendant tries to sell me on a fuel cleaning service they offer for $100 because there's no removable fuel filter on the Xterra. I declined thinking it sounded a little suspect and wondered if anyone else had ran into this. Am I missing something? Wouldn't Seafoam accomplish the same thing?

depending on how they do the service, it can be much more effective than seafoam. many places will just add something to the tank and charge a premium for it. then there are places that do a good fuel service where they can tap into the fuel rail and clean the injectors directly and disable the fuel pump. Its very hard to do a throttle body service on the electronic throttle bodies because nissan did not seal them. if you try doing a spray cleaning, you WILL damage the electronics in it. you will have to try and run a drip process through a vacuum line as close to the throttle body as you can.

at my shop, we use all the BG products which work great! they are much better than seafoam or any of the other "cleaners" out there.

to try and use the selling point that it doesnt have a serviceable fuel filter though is total BS. it was designed that way and they use a better system in the pump itself.

i only have the kit part numbers, but they do not sell to the public. they only do wholesale.

the kit number is bg-k2901 for the 3 part, or bg-k2902 for the 2 part

I use BG 44k about every 6 months its the only fuel system cleaner worth buying IMO. If you've never ran any kind of cleaner through your system i guarantee you'll notice a difference with this stuff.
