From the depths of the wilds in the Siuslaw forest...

Mountain Kelt

Test Drive
Hey all,
Mountain Kelt here. Living deep in the Siuslaw forest in a small house by a bridge at the fork of two creeks I say howdy to you kind folks and hope you and yours are all well and happy.

I own a 2003 Xterra, 190+, and just spent far too much I feel to get all the coolants, oils, lubricants and filters and a new coolant line (seals went all through the system at the same time - go figure), but she's as near to sweet as you can be at her age. "Tomi". That's what I call her. After a girl named Tomi I fell in love with in Japan while stationed there in the Navy. She was reliable too and needed a lot of TLC sometimes.

As for me; I'm a retired Navy Journalist/Sonarman who retired in '96. I went to school after that and finished a masters in teaching in 2010. I teach 6th grade.

Yes, I know. Brave 'ol fool. Three wars, two bar fights, and a nasty divorce but it was my sixth grade students who scared me the most.
True story.

12-year olds with hormones and not knowing what to do with them. Scary stuff, man! It's a lot like growing old. Not for the faint of heart.

And when summer vacation came, I picked up my camera bag and a notebook and worked as a freelance photo-journalist. That kept me in perspective.
I'm disabled now so no school and pho-jo work is set aside for more important things...like restoring Tomi, and sneaking around the woods photographing mushrooms, bears, and the occasional cougar. No Bigfoot. Sorry.

So. Now that the Engine, drive train, coolant and fan systems are all okeedokee…it's the electrical system next. I'll post something when I square my thoughts away on that matter.
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers to all. Pray for mankind. It's not about religion. It's about your connections to the whole.
Peace
Mountain Kelt
