Man there's so many good driving songs. Sometimes I want hard rock/metal lately it's been (Clutch, Pantera, Black Sabbath) sometimes I want rap (Jay Z, Notorious BIG, Ice Cube) other times I like southern rock/outlaw type country.

My musical tastes are too varied to come up with my one favorite song, but I will say that Kid Cudi's albums Man on the Moon 1 and 2 will forever remind me of my first X and the winter of 2010. That's pretty much what stayed in the CD player for weeks at a time. Funny how hearing music will remind you of a certain event or period in your life.

I rewatched all of Always Sunny this week, and now I've got nothing but Rick Astley stuck in my head. And I want him in my truck.

No, not in that way. Well, all right, kinda that way.

My favorite 'noise' when 'driving' is actually the sound of my FZR600 turning at 6500rpm, with the visor cracked a little bit, on a warm day with zero traffic around me.

I guess that could be construed as music. I love it so much that I've actually fallen asleep while riding. Coming through Vail in the late afternoon, having left Tucson at 5am. Everything was perfect and I was a little tired anyway, but I swear, if I would have died at that time, I could've said that I died at the happiest time in my life (at the time).

Heck, it's about 45° outside right now, but I really want to go for a ride!

This song has recently been top of my list. I've been a little on the downside lately, and the lyrics, "Get up off my feet, and stop making tired excuses." Kinda hit me in the face with a side of reality.

If it's rock. I love it. Unconditionally. Rock on.

My favorite however is RUSH. Mostly because I can sing along with it and I can sing just like Geddy Lee :)

^ Favorite song of all time. I've seen Rush live X 1 now!

I've seen Rush 8 times - all in Denver except for once in Dallas. Fauss, if you them at Red Rocks I was there. Unless it was this sumner because I missed that show. :(

It was a little ways back, can't remember the year. Red Rocks is by far my favorite venue I have seen Rush, Styx and Boston, the Arnel version of Journey, and Mumford and Sons. Just sounds better up their. :bmmd:

How does "no Rush" == boy band? That doesn't even begin to make sense. There is so much more music between those two it's not even funny.

Rush = you love them or hate them. I don't know many in betweens.
I just wanted to bust your chops and find an extreme that I didn't figure you would like either. ;)

I have lost for you what little respect I had.

you know... usually I would tend to agree. Especially with the disgust I have felt towards these types of "artists". But, this time around I'm holding strong in ny opinion. Song is catchy and has a good sound to it.

Not sure the lyrics have any meaning other than the classic modern garble of fame, sex, and booze. But I like the sound and it is fun to put on and do some nightime driving to.

That is all. I rest my defense on this song. KCCO.

forty-six & 2 is probably my favorite song ever. But I am a tool whore. pretty much anything by maynard actually. if they put out a cd of nothing but tracks of him taking a crap I would probably buy it and spend way too much time looking for some kind of hidden meaning in the sounds.

I'm the same way. Tool, APC, Puscifer.. I love it all. Lately all I have been listening to is KoRn. Every cd in my disc changer is KoRn. I can't get enough lol

Yeah, Tool is always fantastic and one of my faves. APC is good but there are only a few Puscifer songs I care for. Tool needs to hurry up and give us something new!
I have been listening to a lot of comedy on the road lately.
Patton Oswalt is one of the funniest comics ever. Feeling Kind of Patton is one of the best comedy albums ever made.

East bound and down, Jerry Reed. Maybe it's something about growing up watching Smokey and the Bandit, but it always gets me going... And driving with an adrenaline rush!!

Lower definition is cool makes me rage nicely on the road, rebelution then some good TI or same kind rap like that is good too. I have my iPod on shuffle while I drive and the 5k songs it goes threw is a nice variety.

My favorite driving song these days is the old Dave Dudley truck-drivin' song "Six Days on the Road", but performed by Gram Parsons and the Flying Burrito Brothers.

A close second is " Louisiana Lady" by the New Riders of the Purple Sage.
