Didn't know where to put this, but I felt armor might be best fit.

Anybody ever thought of using one of those through body exhaust tips like one of these:

To go through the plastic corner and raise the exhaust exit up a bit? I thought about this earlier today when I was backing up and a tree stump almost smashed my exhaust pipe under the bumper.

The issue with doing the exhaust through the stock corners is that if you slam down hard enough on one at a bad angle, you will pinch your pipe. May work through an Insain or P&P rear corner though.

Good idea, or you could go through the rear bumper too stock or aftermarket.

Didn't think about that. The plastic is pretty flimsy, but with an aluminum or steel corner I think it'd be functional and look good. (Tip painted black, of course)

If you slam down hard enough on the corners to pinch the exhaust shut your also going to be looking at other issues too.

I'm gonna look into either buying or building something to do this with. I've always like that look on certain cars and trucks. There's no real rocks around here and I can't wheel too much with 2wd.

The problem with this kind of layout is that there's a lot of sheet metal behind the corners. I don't know if you'd be able to clearance the pipe below the tub and still keep in IN the corner piece.

Fair point, but I have managed to pinch my tailpipe without even realizing it until we heard a high pitched whistle as I was giving it gas up an incline.

Some clever cutting with a sawsall will prevent the pinched pipe problem. Mine is cut back enough if a rock hits it will just flex up between the frame rails without damage. Kinda hate the way a tailpipe looks on a X like a cigarette is hanging out of it's butt. After chopping it off though can't see it unless I lean under. Still out far enough from the cab I don't have worry of fumes.

Think I just solved the problem much cheaper. Had to cut the tailpipe to get my stock shackles off and then I added an autozone turn down and it keeps the pipe nice and high/hidden and exits just behind/under the bumper.

    Someone's Done It!

Sorry to revive this thread, but I found this guy on Instagram (@2bor3d) and thought I should post it on here. I asked if he had any trouble with the plastic melting and he said only a little bit. So if anyone is thinking of trying it go for it! As long as you're okay with a little bit of melting lol.

I know of a certain frontier that has a duel exhaust out of a 300Z coming out through his rear bumper, works great and never has to worry about crushing the tips, he is also on 37's so the bumper is kind of up there. But it would still work for us.

It's Brady Overly frontier. the bed is gone and the rear bumper is a custom that has been modified to the frame width and the tips come out through it. I don't have any pics of it but he won the white knuckle last year at went. Someone else might have a pic or two
