Pictures taken as soon as it came home.
Felt good driving it home :)
Well if you have read my Turk build you will know I have had some dark times. I lost Turk in January and bought a Jeep.. Yeah yeah.. I could not find an Xterra at all during Dec - Jan. After owning a 1990 Jeep YJ for 2 months It was time to go.. Loved it on the street.. Hated it off road.. After me sinking about 900 in the Jeep I just couldn't take it any longer. So the Jeep went up for sale in April.. Craigslist is great. How could the guy that started the nXm drive a Jeep? Well May 1st at 2pm the Jeep was gone.. In my excitement I checked Craiglist. Sure enough.. a 2000 Xterra 4wd 200K 4500.00 I thought ok..
So the guy told me he wanted the SUV gone that weekend.. So buy 4pm I owned it, 3600.00 paid in cash.

Now the plan!
I now had some mod money and 40 days to get the Xterra ready for nXm.
So the local seXTERRA guys started the "Lets mod this thing out" but I would need the parts..
The day I brought the Xterra home I started ordering Stickers for one.. I mean come on! and then night I hit ebay for lift blocks and bolts. The next day I went to Discount tires and bought my 33" Goodyears / and 15" Soft 8s. Then that same day the truck would be torn apart.

Parts started flying off!

227516_10150170012266596_4122964_n.jpg

I needed a helper

204813_10150170011926596_6944678_o.jpg

Painted up..

DSC_0002-2.jpg

Tires came in..
259357_10150191846586596_6382641_o.jpg

That same week RacerXXL brought me some AC lift shackles he didnt need anymore and we did some wheeling. I feel likes its always good to wheel the truck your mod'ing it so a WOOLYs trip was needed. Then a issue popped up on the trail... The brake line seem to rub up against the body.. It picked Woolys as the time to break.
45.00 dollars later and I was back on the road..

242423_10150186779356596_6631491_o.jpg

242226_10150190307031596_3116473_o.jpg

I added the Gen 1 Cobra CB Mod
DSC_0061.jpg

OH NO!

Now I had been waiting on my 2" BL pucks for over a week and guess what showed up?
In my excitement I ordered the wrong size.. I ordered 2"x2" instead of 2" tall 3" wide.
So no problem.. Called the dude and sure we can exchange them..Still had 20 days till the nXm

Well I couldn't wait to see the tires on the X...

DSC_0005.jpg

Now this is why you need a body lift on a Xterra to fit 33s.

20110504162159.jpg

Mod I seen KChurch do
DSC_0063.jpg

So I had not received the new lift blocks and was about 2 weeks out so I was starting to panic. Calls seemed to be getting ignored from the place in Florida I bought them from. I came to find out till a week after nXm that the place had refunded my money and never told me..

PML day!

DSC_0023.jpg

DSC_0031.jpg

I always keep a eye for parts and what not,
249880_10150202774961596_4575280_n.jpg

And then I spotted a ARB bumper for sale.
Normally Id be so-so on it but the price was great.. $250..
Only one issue with the deal.. It was in Florida
Well a call to "TimRich" asking if he could bring it up on his way up to nXm and it was mine..

PANIC TIME!!!!
So I had came to the conclusion that the body lift was not going to happen.. :(
But I had bigger fish to fry.. nXm was a few days away and I had RATTFINK coming up from Texas to help..

Now as me and Tim were BS'ing
I started to plan how I was going to get the bumper on.. Only issues.. The tropical storm Tim seemed to bring with him.. A few hours went by and a few beers were drank and who do I see pulling in my drive "Xterror04" I didnt think much of this since nXm was the next day and he lives about 30 miles away.. Then I hear did someone order a lift! Some how all these guys found the right body lift pucks and had them over nighted.. So in record time the night before the nXm I had a 2"BL done and the ARB installed sort of, and the B&M rear bumper on by 1am... I was ready!

I washed it that morning

One of the only pix you will see of the Xterra at nXm..
This was me coming home that night. I bought some sliders from the Indy crew at nXm too!
My son enjoying the view.

DSC_0127.jpg

Trip to woolys a month later.

2 months went by
and the front bumper sitting 2"s lower started bugging me.. Arb doesn't make one for a BL. so I mod'ed it.

DSC_0086.jpg

Then it came to my attention

DSC_0344.jpg

I found out some brand new PIAA lights were going to be for sale :) I couldnt pass the deal up!

Oct 2011 seXTERRA run
DSC_0232.jpg

I started on the prototype B&M Lightbasket and what better place to test it than Coal Creek.
DSC_0188.jpg

Nov 2011 me and Xterror04
Hit Woolys Off road park. This would be one of the best times wheeling I have ever had. The park was about empty and we could do all the trails we wanted.

391107_10150360352311596_1208375146_n.jpg

This would also be the 1st Xterra Nation run!

The Weather!
October was a good and bad month for the Xterra.. Hail storms would allow me to Mod the Xterra more and more

3600 dollars in damage to the Xterra. Since it's is paid for where should I spend the money?

So it had came to my attention
that a new bumper maker wanted to try their hand at Nissan. After I see'ing the #1 RLCweldfab Xterra bumper, I knew I had to be #2
In Nov 2011 I picked up my very own RLC bumper. Only took 3 weeks from order to completion. James with RLC is a super cool cat to deal with.

SNORKEL!
I have always love the Safari snorkels but at 400.00 plus shipping they always seemed to be that mod just out of my reach.
With Hail money in hand.. Game on!
383310_10150365001276596_1616916712_n.jpg

This is a very difficult mod to do.. The safari snorkel is build for the AU version of the Frontier.. So the hump on the fender of the Xterra makes this a measure measure measure before you drill. I have seen these go way wrong if you do not pay attention. I know others will do the DIY snorkel on the Xterra, But I like the factory look to these.

Out of all the Mod's I have done to Stan, This one by far draws more attention to it.

The Winch is here!

How could one have a winch bumper with out a winch? So a call to my buddy Scott with 4Wheelparts.com in Nashville and BOOM!
Smittybilt X20 8k Amphibious winch.
376438_10150357442381596_67593978_n.jpg

And since I was shopping at 4Wheelparts I figured a little extra storage would be nice.
313503_10150358301746596_1982627410_n.jpg

When the music is over?
Well my son had decided the old Kenwood radio was due to be replaced. After a wasp flew by him in my X.. A foot kicked the radio.. and well.. no more iPod attachment..
A quick search on eBay and tada!
302036_10150363403671596_1885124148_n.jpg

I have to say Bluetooth is very nice with the iPod. Its also very nice to be hands free on the phone too!

Vroom!
With the snorkel added it was time to free up some of that air heading to the motor.
Volant air box, Between this and the Snorkel I added a little over 1.5 MPG
430342_10150594533241596_999650907_n.jpg

420502_10150601952256596_1844354200_n.jpg

Ultragauge
With the 33" tires the speedo was just a little off.. Adding the Ultragauge was a nice wat to keep me at the right speed as well to pull any codes that would pop
521997_10150662385676596_517313272_n.jpg

With the help of a seXTERRA mod day, The winch was added.
559643_10150677753936596_1553609710_n.jpg

Dave and Krylon
I had meant to add the red paint to the grill when I first bought Stan but in my excitement I forgot LOL. With the grill out it was time to fix that issue.
531267_10150696416946596_1595959487_n.jpg

This would be one of the last pictures of Stan with his factory paint.

Scratches!
With the Xterra being scratched up from trails it was becoming more obvious that something would need to be done to solve this issue.
I knew I wanted to test the spray bed liners out to see how they would hold up. Over all I had been very happy with the function of it.
My only issue has been the look of the coats. You could see the spray lines.
Prep seems to be key on this mod. I scuffed the paint pretty good.
553597_10150825079721596_1948337044_n.jpg

3 coats later
533008_10150825555066596_2060253760_n.jpg

This will take a good week to dry and blend the coats. But in the end I could still tell that I had heavy lines in spots.
Take two: Roll on!
The Xterra is now 95% bed lined..
376888_10150943902121596_2033391185_n.jpg

I still need to add one more coat..
561786_10150997607141596_277722939_n.jpg

Some times you just need to wheel!
197754_10150881255291596_1928838896_n.jpg

One day Ill own you
269381_10150889025776596_946024246_n.jpg

Oops! wrong thread ;)

Tires and Stan
When I bought this Xterra I knew I wanted to try the Goodyear Duratracs out. After seeing them vs other AT tires they won out by far.
Only issue is with Stan becoming a more capable rig, I tend to put him in spots AT's shouldnt be in.
532601_10150881660676596_518130499_n.jpg

I have cut 2 sidewalls and put holes in them 3 times. For the most part the sidewall issues were due to where I was wheeling.. Tree roots and wet sharp rocks. Would I buy these again? Yes.. Our Gen 2 will be rocking these tires soon. But for Stan.. The next tires will be BFG Km2s.
I really enjoyed those on my Turk build and feel they will be the best option for Stan down the road.

Breaker Breaker
When I started mod'ing Xterras I wanted the Cobra 18WX ST II CB. But shortly after starting the Mod process on Turk I became "Laid off"
So money was tight, Now Im back making money again and have a few more options. After my trusty Cobra DX III died it was time to start the search for CB #2. Ebay is a great thing some days.. 25.00 later and here is my Used Cobra. I used the mount for the tray under the radio to attach the new CB.
296983_10150981776406596_621050094_n.jpg

Skid on over!
I watch forums like a hawk for parts. Some times people will be resonable and well some times you wonder what they are thinking.
Trexterra was parting out his Xterra and had a full set of Skid Row's for sale.

I hate stickers on cars
I really do not like stickers on cars. But for some reason the Xterra keeps begging for them. So like a good owner I give in :)
I have had dozens of stickers on Stan, Now I have settled into Dark grey. They hide very well ;)

Bright lights!
Found a deal on some slightly used LED tail lights...

Lighter is better
Once again watching for parts on forums has paid off.. Brand new in the bag Viking synthetic winch line with thimbell.
I saved about 60.00
598997_10151093156511596_1148220121_n.jpg

I also picked up a new X2o aluminam fairlead for half price :)
Since Im not the shiny type of guy a little paint would be needed. I filled in the lettering and clear coated it.
