Just a couple points of clarity,

1. There is no fab work that has to happen, it is a bolt up modification.
2. The pre-cats do get deleted, and you do want to get a pair of CEL eliminators to put in at the same time.
3. These are a great addition to any first gen,
Xterra or fronty.

Tell you what - you cheapskates get together and pitch in on one set, and then you can each have them for part of the year!

Now, if anyone is actually interested in purchasing some headers, bump for a great deal!

Just think how cool your X will sound with headers when you roll up to daycare to pick up your college. Totally worth it! Just forego the name-brand ramen for a couple months...

OK header GB peeps...
Please let me know if you are in by the end of this week. Please and thank you! I don't know about anyone else, but I am stoked to get some headers on my rig!

Just checking on #2...Can the CEL eliminators be included someway/somehow or are they already included in this GB?

Alright guys - it's that time. I need to know by the end of the week whether you are in. Not whether you are intererested, but whether you are IN. I will be providing a list to ORPP at the end of the week, at which time those of you on it will receive instructions on how to get your discount and pay for the headers. It's going to be 425 plus shipping. PM me IF YOU ARE IN!

The stud kits I believe are included, i.e. all hardware required for the install plus 02 bungs in place...I think that's the same thing (?)

Don't think so. The studs can be re-used but if there is any rust on your truck you will break at least one of them. I want to have a full set just in case. I'm also guessing we will need upper gaskets and lower crush gaskets since AC says they are "recommended".

Also, we are getting the ceramic coated Thorley's right?

I didn't have any problem removing the original exhaust studs from the heads on my 2000 X but it has lived in the desert (not far from NMTerras) for most of it's life. You will most likely want to replace the exhaust manifold gaskets... mine were totally flat when I pulled the manifolds. You may be able to reuse the crush rings on the cats but they're pretty cheap and you will probably be buying the manifold gaskets anyways.

Yeah mine is pretty rusty, it came from Utah. I'm having a shop install mine because I just moved and don't have access to a torch, garage or anything. So for $30 I will gladly give them a set of new studs to work with. Along with all the gaskets.

Do you have a set of these on? How do you like them?

My bad... the crush rings are between the cats and the pipes. You probably wont be seperating that connection. I meant to say the triangular copper gasket between the manifold and the cat... you may have a decent chance of getting the old one to seal again.

Wow, $30 is a great deal.

I just replaced the driver's side manifold (cracked) when I did a minor head rebuild a few months ago. I will probably go with DT long tubes at some point but I want to do it as part of a larger, complete rebuild of the exhaust.

The $30 is just for the studs from AC, I'll see what the dealership wants for everything. You going 2.5" on everything? I'm debating whether to have other work done while they're in there like replacing the rest of the tubing.

Keep in mind ORPP is including parts that AC does not in the headers package...don't rely on AC's page to determine what is and is not included

^^^This is why I did not buy from AC a long time ago. Again, I believe studs, stud nuts and gaskets are included. Still not sure if O2 bungs are the same as CELs, but if they are, it's a complete package

(and thus a heck of a deal)

Send me those PMs, people...

Wow, very cool. The O2 bungs are separate, they are to adapt the upstream O2 sensors to fit their homes in the manifolds/headers. When I replaced an O2 sensor I was sooo confused because the bung came off on the sensor. Then Racer set me straight.

Group buy on CEL eliminators ? Lol

OK, I thought so. So basically, my plan will be to install, and see if my check engine light goes on. If it does...CEL eliminators!

Sorry man... I hate to back out but I've over extended my build budget for the next few months. On top of that, I sold my portable MIG welder a few weeks ago to help fund a full size MIG setup and I need to buy the new one soon to complete the bodywork on my front wheel wells.
