A very basic and easy job to do and save yourself some money.
Sorry if you think this is a bit nooby, but I bet you someone will find it useful :)

Good video! Should help someone out alot! Just one thing. You need to put exactly 3.3 litres of oil in. That's what the owners manual says. "3 and a half" would be 3.5 and would be overfilling the engine, which could cause problems. If your really not sure, measure how much came out, and put that amount back in, check the dipstick when your done. It should be right on the "full cold" mark.

Actually the owners manual calls for 3.5 quarts of oil.

And what would happen if say the engine used some oil and you measured out 2 quarts when you drained it? Always put in the amount the manual calls for.

For the sake of the thread and my own personal curiosity, what does overfilling the oil damage and how?

Metric vs. English. Aaron is in the US, and we measure things as Quarts, Gallons, feet, inches, pounds, ounces, etc. The manual does call for 3.3 Liters or 3.5 US Qts.

Hey, Since this is about oil changing... I'd like to really clean the old oil and possible sludge out of the engine. I have no intention of dropping the pan. In the past (other vehicles) I used Marvels Mystery oil in and gradually over a series of oil/filter changes worked it out. Is it still the same with the VG33 or has something changed?
