Dipped some wheels - Aluminum Metallic

No, not on my X. But it's something I always wanted to try, and I found the perfect candidate.

My Mom had been complaining about her Toyota Tundra's alloy's being very corroded, a black moldy looking splotches on them. I thought about it, and remembered that Plastidip came out with the new Aluminum Metallic color. It sounded like a good solution, no labor intensive prep needed, and it would look good for a while, if not I could either patch it up or re-coat.

I think it turned out pretty good. I was amazed that the colors are very similar. I ordered a wheel kit from dipyourcar.com and it included a can of glossifier, I put about 2 good coats of that on each wheel and still have some in the can. I ended up doing them on the truck, still was a lot of work, but nothing like paint.

Yet to see how it will hold up to wheel maintenance. I reluctantly went over the wheel weights. I could have replaced them but forgot to make a list of weights needed and get some.

Anyway, pics below, before/after.

do you happen to have any pics after you shot the color before ypu hit it with the metalizer?

Before and after is all I got. However the metal flake is actually in the plastidip, so it shoots on that color. The glossifier is the only post color coats I did, it's clear and it just gives it a bit of gloss, as the dip by itself is flat.
