First off, obviously not confirmed, but it’s highly likely this will be announced soon. They “leaked” it thanks to the updated sticker on this accessory bag I received yesterday:

I know that the C1 isn’t a past/old light because in one of the videos for the C2 led pod they talk about the “new” DT connectors they use to enable the color backlight. So we also know the new C1 pod will have a backlight option.

Here’s a comparison of their C2 pod with the Baja S1 pod, and it’s reasonable to think just like the Baja S2 and Diode C2 are comparable in size, the C1 will be as well.

Ironically I just bought the S1 pair last week, and I would’ve much rather kept the same connector and just plugged in the C1, but oh well.

The size and form factor of the single pod is great for fitting in small spaces for offroading applications. But perhaps the biggest reason for Diode to be launching them is it would match the size for direct replacement of fog lights in the new Ford Bronco Sport (maybe the full size Bronco too, but I don’t know), the updated Jeep Cherokee, and probably a few others as well.

Also worth noting that since the end of 2020 they’ve been extremely backlogged and had an issue with supply for the housings. They still show a 8-12 week backorder for C2 pods at least.

It’s possible they were supposed to have already been announced/launched by now, and it’s also possible the attempted launch cut into materials for the C2 and was actually the cause of the C2 delays.
