Box of goodies! Not sure when I want to tackle this project, I may hold off for a little bit. It looks like my bumper may have to come off to get the headlights out, which is going to be a pain.

Nice!

Unfortunately, unless you can get the grill out while the bumper is still on, the whole thing will have to come down.

What specific parts did you get?

I just did this project, unfortunately my lenses were a bit more oxidized than I thought so the restoration kit didn't make them as clear as new.

Here's a photo of mine

Which is why I bought brand new headlight housings when I did mine. And covered the plastic with some of that protective film. That way they'll never oxidise. If the film yellows up, pull and replace.

It's just the basic H1 bi-xenon kit they have, with 5000k bulbs. Didn't upgrade the ballast or bulbs as I was trying to keep the cost down.

That's a good idea. New housings would be ideal but i'm assuming they are pretty expensive?

Yeah I'll have to take a look at my lights im not really sure what condition they are in, hopefully I can get them looking good

On another note, put a deposit on a ZJ a few hours ago. It's a 95 but its crazy clean, absolutely no rust on the body, frame is solid etc. 220km (136k miles). Didn't plan on buying anything but it was $1500 which is a steal. Was only on for a few hours and he said he already had over a dozen emails. I may end up selling it but the plan is to keep it and turn it into a modest off road rig

Same, ive always liked lifted ZJ & WJ's

Well.... today I decided I am going to sell a few things. I was really hoping to get out more this year but ive barely done any wheeling so for now im done with the mods and probably going to sell off a few things locally (skids, sliders, retrofit kit etc)
I will still be able to crawl the malls though!

Don't like the xterra? I suppose the Jeep guys give you a hard time? Lol. Anyway the xj is my favorite for lifts they look really sharp. Parts to do a sas are lower in cost as well.

(Off topic)
The XJ only came with solid axles, D30/35/few44s.
OOps. what I actually meant to say was the XJ has a lot of aftermarket parts to lift the solid axle at various heights. ie. clayton offroad, bds suspension etc.... I know they only come in solid axle, its nice to have the ability to have the parts bolt right in. The very reason why Jeep's are so popular.

I'm just selling off a few things I don't "need". In the past 2 years ive barely done any trails so there really isn't a reason to keep the skids/sliders. I most likely wont end up keeping the jeep either

How do you like your swing out pin/locking mechanism?

I don't mind it, I always thought it would have been nice to have a handle, but at least this way I never have to worry about it opening up, it's also real study.. doesn't rattle or anything.

Night shot.. more than enough light for backing up

I hardly ever got the chance to actually get out and go wheeling so its all good. Plus, I was having issues with my insurance company last year and I know for a fact if they seen how the truck looked they would drop me instantly, so that is another reason why I am getting rid of it.

That's just how they roll. They already dropped me once (without warning) because I added an STI trunk to my impreza. Had to fight with them for over a week to let me come back lol

My old Mx-3, my insurance company asked for a picture of my car. It was a 92, and probably wanted a picture of the car. My parents had to do the same thing once for our old Pontiac 6000 just to show it was taken care of, we assumed because of it's age. But I was worried, even panicking a bit. I contemplated to swap the original wheel annd good back on since I still had them to make it look more stock-ish, but my parents said to leave it as it and they wanted just to make sure it was ok, a standard procedure for a car overs 10 years old. So I went out, took some nice pics, and send them this exact one:

And I never heard anything more from it, and continued to have insurance coverage on that car until I retired her.

The fac they would drop you for an STI trunk, is rediculous!

Yeah. I've had to send pictures or have it inspected for full coverage on an older vehicle. But being dropped over a trunk lid seems almost criminal.

You can get an STI badge off of eBay too and pop it on your 2.5 Impreza. It should be no grounds to have your insurance drop you.

Rear bumper is gone to it's new home! I actually don't mine this look. I'll probably be a little sad once the ARB goes as well though.
