Best sub forum I could think of....

What is everyone using for dash cams? My wife drives like 140 miles a day for work and she's asked for one. And I wouldn't mind one in my X, maybe even the truck.

Affordable, decent quality, would like speed in video as well.

I have a Rexing that I got off of Amazon for $100. Worked fine. But died a few years ago. Thanks for reminding me I need another one.

Personally, I think everyone should have one. There's too many crooked ufckers out there.

Front I have a BOYO (vision tech America) vtr117gw, for the rear I have some other cheaper China made one. The front one is better, but I ideally want to replace both with something higher quality. Of course neither is even currently hooked up since I wasn’t commuting, but I’ve started having to go in twice a week so I should remedy that soon.

Oh i love this thread. Very interested in having one. I dont know anything about them, but I want one that interfaces with my iphone, can they send notifs I wonder? I know they turn on if they sense vibration with the car.

Since I commute so much, I have seen a ton of stuff i wish i had dash cams for, and was hit once during a road rage incident.

Yeah I gotta pull the trigger on this.

I also have a rexing. The first one I had died and Rexing replaced it, no charge! I've got one that still works for a few years now. Got me out of being scammed twice in it's lifetime so far...

I have a Viofo A119S and it’s been installed three years now. Not the best, but still works just fine. Night image is decent, and I have the GPS attachment. Only thing it lacks is a rear camera.

It uses a capacitor instead of a battery, so nothing to get messed up by heat. I also have a clip-on polarizing filter, which is critical for eliminating dash reflection and clarifying the image.

I have the 4K Toguard Chinese, $80 bucks roughly Just front Dash cam.. From Amazon, which not sold anymore.. Figures..
My last one lasted three years and died!.

Great for daylight Filming.. Night time in Rural Roads.. Sucks. Needs lots of lighting to be worthy To identify things. BUT, its Better than nothing..
Screen does not shut off at nighttime. With out manually hitting button each time.. Screw that!!. Used some of that sticky glue tape placed USA Flag over Screen!! To subdue the Bright screen for night driving.

a night time sample:
This has Street lights a few cars.. Only good part.. has time stamp, No GPS.
