Finally got my medic alert tattoo. I've always had bracelets, but they kept breaking, esp at inconvienent moments, I.e. basketball court or in lemur enclosure while I'm cleaning it. I researched medic alert tattoos for a while and talked to emergency personnel and doctors about it. Surprisingly, most were not familiar with them. Guess I'm paving the way for future medic alert tattoo'd peeps.

Not a big tattoo person but i have considered doing this(type 1 too). I know a few a people with pacemakers who have done this too

Many people notice the cadelus (i totally mispelled that) and ask me about. The tattoo is much more noticeable than my bracelets ever were. Most that have asked about it really like the concept. I'm quite happy with it.
