Ive always wondered about tats on the quad- if you get it right side up, every time you look at it, it will be upside-down for you (unless looking in a mirror). I think that would weird me out, haha. That's why I stuck to my forearm...glad my workplace does not make me cover it up, strangely enough.

Cannot wait to see pics of this. Sounds fun! :)

Hey guys, kinda new here, I've got 5 tats, planning my 6th later this year. I've got 2 Nautical stars on my shoulders (pre Crazy Town popularity), A Phoenix (my fresh start after personal ruin), a cross (pretty foggy, and soon to be covered up by armor), and a Dragon on my left calf (to remind me of the demons I've already beaten). I don't think I've got picks of all of them on my computer, but I'll post what I've got. I drew the Phoenix and the Dragon myself and had the artist tat it. I'm working on my Armor tat now and will hopefully have it done come Christmas.

As for aftercare - Clean - keep it clean - use Aquaphor - but wash it all off with any non fragrant soap - and then aquaphor - clean - aquaphor - clean - you get the idea 3 to 4 days and yer good to go

and don't itch it if it's itchy just slap it !!

Great line work! How long? Are you going for a sleeve or will there be separation between them?

Oh and my favorite question...Did it hurt? LOL. I get that all the time with my leg piece.

Took about 4 hours with 30 mins of prep for the top one, then 30 mins of prep after we finished that one to do the bottom one. It will eventually be a sleeve but there will be more knotwork done before the background is done. The top of the shoulder hurt like a b**ch, other then that it was just the usual tattoo pain with a few tender spots. They were no where as painful as my elbow though, that was just miserable for the last hour.

Make sure you go to someone who can do portraits.. Those can easily be ruined. They looks great when done properly, but wrong? Tattoofail.org

Being an "artist". I don't even touch portraits, as I KNOW I can't do them. I like architectural design, and 3D which is why I drew my own, so I knew I would be happy with it.

What about doing something symbolic of your children. You can avoid things like this

Don't have access to pictures right now, but I have both rib cages done from the hip bone to right bellow my arm pit, chest, both shoulder caps, shoulder blades up upper back, and both calfs from right above the ankle to right below the back side of the knee.

Left rib cage - piece on stem cell research supporting it.
Right rib cage - the words, walking forward, stabbing backwards, remembering the worse, living the best, with poloroids developing going down ward.
Shoulder caps - is a Japanese style sky scene
Chest - is a Derek Hess sketch piece with a guy hanging his head arms stretched to each side hands done in red and a red heart in the center.
Back - another Derek Hess art piece with an angel caught in a bear trap with an arrow in his back with two smaller angels on each side of my neck one is the one who shot the arrow and the other is looking over him.
Left calf - the Egyptian god Horus (sky god / god of war and hunting)
Right Calf - The Egyptian God Set (god of chaos and darkness)

That's a good idea Dave! Have you picked out the drawings or are they going to be custom drawn with certain things that are memories?
