Nice!

Got any pics of the bike?

1973 Honda CB175, looks like a junk box, but its actually mostly complete and in rather decent shape

Very cool. A friend of mine has a bike similar to that, not sure of the exact year but I'm pretty sure it's early 70's and a Honda too. I've always liked bikes of that vintage.

Edit: His is a '71 CB350

I'm kind of surprised it fit in the back of the X, I figured it would be too tall.

It actually was to tall, i had to pull the fork tubes for it to fit. It would fit laying down, but I had all my trail gear so it wouldnt have worked

Again, no real progress with the Xterra, weather has been ****ty, money is low so my wheeling trip this weekend isnt gonna happen. But I will probably go and clean her out once more before winter hits if the weather is decent enough.

This past week at work I did however occupy my time between customer job by teaching myself something I wanted to learn for a LONG time. Knifemaking.

This is my very first knife, and I feel as though it turned out fairly well. I had a hell of a time getting the second scale for the grip to stay attached, the 2-part epoxy just wouldn't set right, and still isnt completely hard. But I pinned it and did as much finish work as I felt I could with it still tacky.

Here is the 95% product.

Overall length is about 9.5" with about 4 of that being grip. I heat treated with motor/hydraulic/diesel oil (whatever was in our containment bin) and the edge is hard. Just gonna use as a kind rough use knife once I get a good edge on it.

Well... if you ever want to know what driving a 25 year old jeep wrangler on 37s with worn ball joins is like.... just loosen your tire rod nut! I experienced death wobble today in an IFS and it was quite odd. Not entirely sure why the cotter pin came out and why the nut backed out, but it couldve been alot worse.

you got to love the 5 min. fix. Sometime I dread even looking for the problem thinking it has to be the worse thing I can think of.

I dont mind looking for the problem, I know it needs to get fixed and I wheel my truck hard so something is bound to be broke.

Cargo solution time... After the other night of digging through my mess of tools, parts, and general crap in the back of my rig I realized I need to think of a way to easily get to all of my tools and parts without having to unload or move everything. Seeing as there is no options for 1st Gen Xterras I will have to create my own.

What I have in mind is to use a piece of 3/4" finish plyboard as the base. Cut to fit the contour of the rear cargo area. I would likely then create a metal frame for a second level. As for the base I will bolt on some nice heavy duty drawer guides with a platform on them to store my toolbox, ice chest, and an actual drawer for my spare parts. My goal is to create a system that is more or less a direct drop in system but also stay modular enough so that if I needed to change something out I could do so with relative ease. Time to hit the drawing board and see what I can come up with!

Nice! I've seen it done a couple of times, and this is what I suggest anytime someone asks. Look forward to what you come up with!

Ive actually not seen very many setups built. My idea is to use the least amount of wood needed, however keeping it lightweight enough (under 100lbs) which it should be

I'll be interested to see what you come up with. My rear storage is in need of some reform as well. Mine's decently organized but I'd still like the option to sleep in the back with an air mattress.

We finally got a small snow storm come through today. In about 12 hours it put 6-10" of snow on the ground. I still managed to get to work in 2wd and did slideways all 3 miles of it. Hopefully winter hits late and in full force as I would love for 2' of snow for some urban snow bashing.

I saw in another post you had Wyoming plated. What part of Wyoming are you from? I used to live In Southeast Idaho, about 15 minutes from the Wyoming line. In fact, I could baby kick a rock off my buddies front porch and get it into Wyoming.

Oh nice. That was one side of the state I never made it to when I lived out there. I was about 30 minutes or so from Afton, WY.

If you ever make it out this way we can go wheel the black hills!

Minor update, my 5.13s for the rear SHOULD be here friday and have already lined out a second 3rd member to do everything on the bench and be able to just swap them out. I will be ordering the fronts from RuggedRocks probably mid-January. I also will be purchasing a front bumper from a member here and should have it in January. Those are the major things I will be doing before Gone2017, other than those I will only be doing normal maintenance.

Was there 3 or 4 years ago. Just happened to be when Sturgis was going on. So I avoided Deadwood. But next year, not so much.

Well the next mod has been decided... LED conversion on my guage lights. Went with blue LEDs from superbrightleds.com I also still have 1 LED on backorder for the shifter selection light.

I'm curious to see how that comes out. I battled with that on my last truck. I was never happy with the results, but maybe things will be different with the 1.0 cluster.

the real trick for me is going to be 2 things.... getting the cluster out, and getting the AC controls out... both of which I have attempted but not completely done...

Getting the cluster out is easy. Just a few boots and wires. The climate controls are a different story. If I may make a suggestion. Order replacement controls on ebay and formulate a plan and your lighting before hand.

I think I remember reading your writeup about it. Didnt you have issues getting the red/blue on the temp knob to light correctly? I was gonna straight swap the bulbs and call it a day. Im not too picky with that stuff, I have bulbs out anyways...

It's not the knob that's the problem. It's the cable that goes to the air box that's the problem. I'm still unsure of how to get that out of the controls.

Are the bulbs in yours the long stupid ones too? Or regular bulbs.

Ive got 4 long ones im assuming for the cluster, and 2 little stubby round ones that look like the twist in

I was wondering where you were at with your SAS project. I'm eager to see it progress

As of right now.... the F250 D44 is sitting on a pallet in front of my work under about 6" of snow.

Kinda trying to save some money up so I can buy the calmini kit. Gonna do a few changes based off of what others have done

A waggy axle is nice in that respects....Plus its pretty damn close to the same WMS as the Xterra.

This is only part of why im doing it. I mean I have a chevy 44 as well, but I really dont wanna go through the hassle of tearing it down and converting the F250 over to HS 6lug.
