Please forgive my ignorance but I have a few questions;

Did you use the Toyota straight arm?

If you did would using the OEM arm (shorter) move the Drag Link out of the Tie Rods path?

Does the link on the Tie Rod need to be perpendicular to the ground? In other words could you clock the Tie Rod so that the Drag Link is out of the Tie Rods path?

My concern is dropping the Tie Rod by moving to under the Knuckle Arm into more of harm’s way by.

Did you get the pre load on the coilovers figured out? I was talking to you on FaceBook about it. I also have the GM 1 ton steering and have the drag link behind the tie rod for the same reason. Mine might barely touch together still at full lock but nothing that I can notice while driving and no damage has come of it.

I havent messed with thw preload yet. The weather hasnt been the best the last couple days. Hopefully I can get it knocked out tonight or tomorrow.

Today I mounted the resivors. While not ideal it is the best I could think of and should hold them just fine. Lots of room between tire so not worried about contact.232DA20D-61E1-4A86-967C-90E56183AE1C.jpeg

My concern is dropping the Tie Rod by moving to under the Knuckle Arm into more of harm’s way by.

So I used an UTK end which put the drag link on the backside of the Tie rod. This allowed enough clearance that so I wont constantly have contact. I retained stock pitman so far but still may try the Hilux flat arm to see if I can get my drag link more parallel to the track bar which is more ideal. 51E9C82D-3144-4FB1-BB66-B15F58B90BCE.jpeg16AF68CB-2ED2-4DF5-94AF-72F053AE2E8F.jpeg583E0BD8-4778-4C91-80FA-1F51C667EB7A.jpeg C29F4E88-DFFC-4D6B-8265-68A468E6A542.jpeg

Looks good!

Is that reservoir going to get pummeled with crap the tire throws around in the wheel well?

Keep an eye on that lower Track Bar Bolt, I've had it back out on me once already. Scared the crap outta me. I'm planning to double shear and safety wire it but until I can I've marked it at 12 o'clock with a yellow paint marker. I can tell at a glance if it's moved and now eyeball it whenever I get in or out of the truck.

I plan to double shear it as well. I used a small dab of loctite on it to help keep it in. I hope it doesnt back out but good to know it does that.

As for the resivoirs, they shouldnt get hit to bad. Theyre up and out of the way of the tires so only time will tell

Yeah, I’ve got red loctite on it as well...still backed out. I think the problem is that it’s open on the back so that water gets in there. I can’t safety wire it because of the Heim. Just keep an eye on it until you get a chance to double shear.

Tinkered a little today.. changed rear diff fluid from a year ago. I have been on same fluid I broke the new gears in on and it looked great. Still olive and very little metal in it. Suprising to say the least. Slowly getting things together

So I called Currie Enterprises the other day. My inquiry was about using the Antirock in the Calmini cross member. Essentially what I was told is the 32” universal antirock needs a 30” crossmember with 1.75” ID for the bushings. I gotta do some figuring for the arms and figure out that length but I think this is the route I am gonna go in the front. As for the rear Nisstec supposedly can get the antirocks as well so I will likely be doing that in the rear.

Thursday next week truck gets a driveline built for it. Im gonna try to swap to the flat pitman this weekend and see if that fixes the contact issues between the DL and the TR. slowly but surely getting things done

I for some reason didnt expect THAT much flex from it. I kept lifting on the forks and it kept taking it. At one point had a customer pull into the lot and was waiting for my boss and he was watching me saying “that is pretty bada55”

Next up is to figure out how to pulla little more flex out of the rear of the truck. I cant ditch the bumps as my shocks would surely bottom out.

4 link or coilovers for the rear.

I was thinking something similar to what the Pathy has. Basically a trailing arm with panhard and coilovers

Gears, locker manifold, and tcase flange yoke ordered today. Also dropped off my sweet cardboard skidplate template at Untamed Designs to have it cut out in a pretty sheet of 3/16” steel. Driveshaft tomorrow hopefully. Alignment is scheduled for next week, guess I gotta try that other pitman arm on... Slowly but surely getting everything buttoned up on this phase of the project... next up is rebuild the rear.... oh and beadlocks

Also... front ARB purchased, should be here next week if seller gets it out tomorrow.

Changed my timing belt today... never done ne and managed 6hours start to finish. Truck fired on first crank! Let it idle for about 20-30minutes and temps never got about 163*

Went for alignment today... apparently i need “alignment bushings” @$60 a side to allow the truck to align properly... theyquoted me $270 just for alignment and labor and parts...

Im at a point where Im about to toss some squares on the axle and go for it

Just an alignment up here is over $200. But I am cheap and would do it myself as the abuse the truck seas I am sure the alignment would probably be out in less than a month.

Mounted up the manifold with locker selinoid on the backside. Tried to keep everything in a tight accessable package. Pretty happy with it.
