Coal Creek 03 January 2015

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know about a trail run that I have planned with some friends. We are going to Coal Creek OHV in Oliver Springs, TN on the 3rd of January this year. The plan is to get started pretty early and run trails all day long. We will be doing moderate trails as we will have a few people that are new to off-roading with us. As always, sliders and under armor are recommended, but I am not your dad so I'm not going to tell you what to do. Anyways, post up if you are interested and we can discuss details.

Me too. I haven't been able to see that far out. I know next Wednesday is supposed to be freezing rain. Not sure after that. It will be interesting if the ground is wet. Always is.

We will be staying up there on Friday night and probably leaving Saturday after wheeling. That's about the extent of the plans right now.

Oh we will be there rain or shine. The only thing we will change is the amount of throttle input to get up the trails

Bump for one day out. We will be up there around mid day tomorrow and plan to spend tomorrow and Saturday on the trails and return home Saturday night. Looks like lots of rain, so obviously no 2wds, but other than that should be a good run.

Had an awesome two days out on the trail. We escaped with a small amount of carnage the first day and a small amount the second day, but overall less than expected for how nasty the trails were.

Very very wet. I have never been when it was that wet before. There was mud all over everything and my sliders saved me from sliding into a rock and doing a serious amount of body damage.

It wasn't terrible for those of us that were running full armor. Kevin managed to break a passenger side CV axle in the front as well as a sway bar end link. Myself and another Xterra got some rash on the sliders, and both in unarmored 4-Runners (after some serious spotting) made it through safely.
