Just a little teaser on my e-fan setup...

I prepared my aluminum sheet and got the mount holes drilled. Before I can install it I want to upgrade to a 125A alt (sitting in the garage) and I need to redo some wiring stuff to make room for the Derale controller...I will post pics as I go and once complete will write-up a How-To for it.

Nice. Is that a single or dual speed/temp fan controller?

Reason I'm asking is that I plan to do mine with a Taurus fan (only the most epic of electric fans ever made) but it is a dual speed. I've got the relay for it pulled from a 92 Volvo. But I need something to send the signals for the high/low speeds.

Seeing how I'll be doing essentially the same swap, I'm very interested to see what you do. Hurry up and finish this.. Well I guess I have until NXM to wait..

Single speed/temp adjustable controller.

Not worried about the lateral stress to the seats?

Just a thought, my mother n law uses the head rest to pull herself in and it is something I've worried about....

May be I'm just being over protective?

Usually those who need them are short/small so I'm not too worried about the stress. If they ever break it will give me a reason to upgrade to racing seats. Haha!

Metzican: thanks!

Chuck! We demand updates. Mostly that E-fan write-up ;)

Bummer that you didn't make it to the GLX run; I was hoping to see you and your pretty truck there.

I'm working on a few things right now in the background; I've been lurking. I have a baby (a second daughter) on the way (in less than 5 weeks) so I've been working on my homestead chores now that the weather turned nice.

Hated to miss the GLX run! See ^ for my reason. :D

My plan right now:
1. Fix the horrible squeaking that has been happening. I got in on my buddy's lift and I found that my idler arm was ceasing up; I let the grease run out in my bandit bushings. I covered it in PB a half-dozen times and cleaned out the affected area. So far its been quiet but I'm not convinced that it will last very long. I need to loosen it enough to get it off so I can regrease it.
2. Install 125A Alternator (In garage, ready for install)
3. Rework wiring mounting configuration to allow for more relays (safe installations) (all components in garage ready for install)
4. Introduce my X to dual Optima Yellow Tops (trying to figure out my mounting strategy) (or possibly ditch that idea and buy one of the PPS XP-1's!)
5. E-fan (all components in garage ready for install)
6. Do an LED swap on all the bulbs that are easy like others are doing

I got a new license plate from Mongolia that fits the RLC bumper a lot better than the first one. (I guess I'll need to change my avatar now)

They are top notch quality. Very solid, heavier duty than I expected; they are rated IP67, dustproof and waterproof (up to 15ft).

I got the seat covers custom made when I was in Mongolia.

I finally got some truck time and did the Quest 125A alternator swap. I'll do the Big3 next and then some wiring replacement. Once it's all cleaned up I'll install my e-fan setup. It's been years in the making! lol

Wow, it's been a while since I updated my build thread! I'm prepping for a trip with Noxious007 so I'm finally getting around to taking care of the stuff on the X.

First things first, new DuraTracs!
