I never could find a good transmitter, but I was trying to find one that would fit with my Otter Box still on the phone and that used the iPod connector on the bottom. The reason for the bottom connector is the headphone out is an amplified signal so you need to keep the headphone level at least 3 tics below full tilt for a decent level without clipping the input of the transmitter. The couple I found that either burned themselves up, or would only tune to four stations and in Dallas, even where there isn't a station, there are HD sidebands rendering the channel useless.

If you ever do try it again, I would suggest 92.9 for your area -- it's in the middle of a 3 station 'hole'. 92.5 runs HD (at least it applied for it) so that rules out 92.7; the same goes for 93.3, ruling out 93.1. That should leave a decent hole at 92.9 provided their equipment is properly working.

96.1, 98.5, 99.9, 100.7, 102.5, 105.7, 106.5 are also valid options (3 station hole with HD stations on either side)

I am almost done doing this , some of the tracks are elusive. To really finish this off with the spirit of the movie, I'd like to find some sound editing s/w that would let me distort my voice (like frank's) and overlay it where they need to go (i.e. "Wake Up" and "Have you ever seen a portal?", etc.). Any ideas on what a good sound editing s/w would be would be GREAT!

You could try doing it with Audacity. It's free, and they recently released a Windows 7 compliant version. I haven't played much with the effects on it, mostly using it to create my iPhone ring tones, or extracting audio from my station's logger, but it may do what you ask.

Hey THANKS for the link! I wasnt about to find a distorter but I was able to overlay some sounds I found of frank from the movie. Cleaned up the background noise and overlaid it on the mp4a. SWEET

ANYway if anyone wants this 'CD' when I'm done I'd be happy to share

Last CDs came in a couple days ago, packed and addressed everything last night. Unfortunately, I'm tied up all day today and can't hit the post office, I'll try to send them out tomorrow. Except for Rant - two-day nagging penalty :D

I am beyond stoked for this CD. Every song I have.. But not together like this. Talk about exact same taste in music.

I put all sorts of music on my CD.. Kinda get everything on there.. But dang.. Stoked to get the discs.

They are at the house, just have to come back from college to get them

Rant, please post up up your set list. You have some pretty obscure sh*t on there, ALL of which I loved, some of which I can't identify. Ministry, Missing Persons, Stan Ridgeway (formerly of Wall of Voodoo), Pulley, Bad Brains and Blind Melon are some of the ones I got right off the bat. I think you had some Steel Pulse and Black Uhuru on there too? or was that someone else...

I have a lot of rap on there which I know a lot of guys aren't going to be crazy about but hey thats what I listen to haha. Glad to hear you're excited for it man

So uh mine should be the blank one, that has crappy music :D Well not crappy but I put like 3 songs of the same artist on there and stuff I should of added more variety. I have had road warriors in and I knew most the song and I am currently listing to jbimles lol
