Catalytic converter pricing

Hi. Looking for advice re my daughter's 2012 Xterra, 2WD

Her mechanic quoted her the following and I want to know whether these are legitimate prices....

PART--Catalytic converter, right: $1,099.98
PART--Catalytic converter, left: $1,099.98
LABOR--Catalytic converter, replace front, left bank and rear: $500
LABOR--Catalytic converter, replace front, right bank and rear: $500
PART--oxygen right upper and lower: $455.98
PART--oxygen left upper and lower: $353.98
LABOR--misc garage supplies, nuts, bolts and gaskets and new studs for exhuast manifold: $86.90

and charged another $125 in labor for finding faulty catalyst and oxygen sensors.....

PARTS TOTAL: $3,096.82
LABOR TOTAL: $1,250
TAX: $276.03
TOTAL: $4,622.85

Eh, I'd call them high. Looks like you're in NY, so that does mean CARB compliant cats which are more expensive. Rear cats I can get for about 640 ea, but my usual vendor doesn't have CARB fronts. O2 sensors are about $425 for the full set of NTKs. If it wasn't for the cats, I'd be in $1,275 + shipping

While it’s unethical to do it to a shop, I bought the parts, including gaskets, ahead of time and paid for the labor. Shops hate this, but cats are expensive. I did one side and waited a year or two for the other. Shops will scare you with no warranty, and they can not promise how long it will last. I did this for my first gen. I have bought Bosh sensors and walker parts via Amazon. Find the bad side and go from there.
