How are they able to mess with breaking and steering? Those aren't connected to the entertainment stuff? I could understand A/C. Then again I've never owned a car that had fancier stuff than a stereo.

But I definitely could see how drivers could be toyed with while driving using this.

They uploaded new firmware to the entertainment system that allowed them to communicate over the CAN bus. They are going to talk about the way they get into the car at an upcoming confrence, but not about how they are rewriting the chip. However, they did say someone else could figure it out given enough time.

Im not surprised by any of this. A ?12 y/o? Did something like it last year at a automotive tech conference. Im not ready for fully electronic cars.
