Did a quick search both here and on the other forum -

Can CAN bus leds be used without negative consequences? A while back I had ordered a set of reverse light leds and I finally opened them to realize I got can bus ones.
I have seen a few places that say Do NOT use CAN bus unless equipped. So...no idea if the X is able to use it or not.

It looks like they _can_ be used in a non-can application, but they may not last as long due to increased heat. There's a resistor across the leads so that a CAN monitored system will not show a false fail of an LED in a system expecting an incandescent. Because of the resistor, the bulb won't be as efficient as if there just the LEDs, and the resistor is the cause of the increased heat.
