Hello everyone so I have a question.. what calipers would you recommend getting ?

I bought some parts to work on my brakes so today I was working on it making a video but you know nothing goes well half of my slide pins are stuck and wont come off.. I was hammering one for nearly 40 min it barely moved at this point I want to just replace them as I wanted to replace them ever since I bought the truck they look so bad too so rusty..

So I am looking at this one , but any other recommendations ? would love to keep it within or under $400

for front and rear

I dig red calipers. And yes. The OE caliper pin configuration is bullshiat. I didn't even install that rubber sleeve when I put my new brakes together. The world is a better place.

those are so far the best I found.... I man they already coated as well .. if I buy bare one I will still need to paint them.. as here in NY they will rust in no time...
when you say you didnt put rubber sleeve , are you talking about the ones that go on the the slide pin and inside of the caliper ? or the one that is on the outside ... and why ?

I once ordered brake pads for my Jeep and Powerstop sent me calipers by mistake. After calling and asking where to ship them back to, they said I could keep them, free of charge. Though, I can’t stand red calipers, so I painted them black and installed them. Good calipers. And wouldn’t ya know? My passenger side caliper was sticking, so I guess it was serendipity.

ah yeah for sure the outer boot is a must holds all the dirty and stuff out.. just was wondering what part you didn't used... the inner one is just so it wont make noise or something ? I wonder why they made it that way... the one on top has no rubber band it it came out fine.. dirty but fine.. the one with rubber band wont come out...

and this is the price I am getting on RockAuto .. one price is better on amazon for one of them for front one and rear one has better price on rockauto lol

as to the red color.. well I feel it would match my front shocks and shackles pretty good.. lol

On the topic... for you guys that have bought stuff from Amazon or Rock Auto with a core charge - how do you get that back? Ship the old ones in?

I haven't had a slide pin even begin to seize up since switching to napa sil-glyde. That's the most important part.

A lot of the other slide pin lubes make rubber swell... kinda an issue

Edit:
so even with brand new calipers, take them apart, clean all the lube out, and re-lube with sil-glyde.

The one on the inside. I've changed enough of these brakes and that thing is a constant problem.
I’ve asked this before I think, but “on paper” is there any potential issue removing it? I’m about to do new calipers and am inclined to leave it off.
