I have a semi.
Will prob lay out stuff this weekend and get the gears in motion
closer and closer to D day
Yep closer and closer.
Should be ordering springs next week. I have to find time to get up to CT to go pick up my steering kit from a buddy.
Had a discussion with my buddy that's helping me weld. Might get the perches welded on either Columbus day weekend or veterans day weekend.
I have the ball joints, rotors in the garage. Arb HD airline kit should be arriving today, and ordered u joints for the axles shafts today so progress is being made
What type of "steering kit"?
Ruffstuff 1 ton y link. Damian is getting rid of his and planning to do something "bigger"
So it's new and not put together yet?
What's Damian planing?
Yep new in box. And who knows with him
ARB HD line kit arrived yesterday. Didn't get a chance to check it out since I got home so late.
But the 2nd to last major piece for the swap is inbound!
really nice build. in for the sas!
question. why airlocker and not cable locker like an Ox? i plan on cable locking my future sas axle.
<--- says the guy with a twin air locked gen 1...
Well I got the air locker for a steal to start. And i dont think they make an OX for the h233b so I like to stay consistent.
Why an OX if you already have the switches and air line run for an ARB?
Gathered all of the parts I have in the garage together (and cleaned it) to begin reassembly tomorrow.
First thing is to go get a 1/4 NPT tap to do the bulkhead fitting....
Jumped right in this morning and drilled and tapped the hole for the arb fitting. Also took that stupid bracket off the axle.
Took all the hub parts out and took inventory of what I had since this stuff has been on a shelf for the past year. Dropping then off at a friends to get all the old grease out of them.
And then threw on a coat of rattle can paint.
cheaper and simpler.
damn it Chris, now i really need to find an axle. good work so far.
So I was planning on taking apart the ifs this weekend buttttt....
I did pros and cons, I realize i won't have money to regear the rear until dec or tax return time.
In that time obviously the truck would be down. So I'd rather get all my ducks in a row beforehand.
The day I disassemble the IFS is the day I send the rear out for regear this way everything can go back together in one shot.
I'd rather do this all once. And the right way
But damn that is one good looking dana 44 if I do say so myself
Nice. Remember to put fluid in there once it's all together...
I though that was to never be mentioned lol
What? I'm just reminding ya....
Got some giant boomerangs deliver late tonight.
Got my springs! One of the big ticket items I was missing!
Also got my bearings cleaned up and checked out. For an 87 my mechanic was surprised the shape they were in !
I shall call it mini me
YAAAAS! I want a frontrailer.
nice work. looks all cute with the little trailer wheels.
Damn right it does
