Speculation but I bet Grogu grows up and ends up wielding the dark saber since he's also force sensitive. It was forged by the only other known mando / Jedi.

The mando's are known to adopt. So I see him officially becoming adopted and becoming mandalorian especially since he chose the armor over the lightsaber with Luke.

EXCEPT lore is that for the Dark Saber to bestow good fortune for the bearer, it must be won in combat. Bo Katan inherited it and the empire fell under her rule.

Din will have to lose it and Grogu recover it for him to possess it rightfully.

Yeah. It's like they realized half way through that nobody really cared about Boba and turned it into Mando season 2.5.
