Hey guys,

So first off, shout-out to Austin Malin for helping me install my Pml the other day. Here's my issue...The lift left me wanting more, and I'm needing a bit more clearance due to some rubbing. I'm itching to get the a 2" BL done for the LBL trip in June. Any chance some of you middle TN guys would want to lend a hand? I've read over the write-up multiple times, but I've run run into jobs being harder than necessary due to rust. Needless to say, I'm pretty hesitant about doing it myself at the chance that I get part way through and get stuck.

I'm going to start piecing it together now and wouldn't mind some extra hands. I'd be glad to provide food and drinks to whomever is able to help!

If you haven't already started ordering parts. I know p&p was keeping the "forum budget body lift" parts made up in a ready to order kit. It's just what you need and nothing you don't. Unlike ac's kit which comes with a bunch of useless parts. Might save you some headache

Yeah, I saw their kit. I'm going to go the "find it yourself" route. Their kit is $150 whereas I can hopefully piece it together for $70-$80. Big headache, but I have time and wouldn't mind saving the money for other mods.

The old $80 BL is not true anymore. Some of the bolts are hard to source and cost more than they used to. When i did mine about 3 years ago it cost me almost $100 and I had to wait 3 weeks to get the bolts.

Hmmm..that's a bummer to hear. P&P is out of stock for the next 7-10 days according to Mike..I guess I'll inquire around about the bolts and if nothing comes up, I'll be calling P&P for a kit.

As far as the install goes, it really is pretty easy and can be completed with hand tools, a good jack, and some preemptive PB blaster on the bolts. Just watch the heater core spout/post that sticks through the firewall. I didn't have issues with mine but many others have broken it because it's plastic.

We can get that done pretty quick..
I won't be free till early June but I'd be willing to let you come over and we knock it out..

The BL parts can be had for 100 still

So after going to the DIY 2" BL thread and using the info/websites provided, the grand total for pucks and bolts with shipping and tax is $73.22. I'm going to go through and re-select everything just to make sure.

Question - My RLC is made for a 2" BL, however, my rear bumper obviously isn't. I haven't looked yet, but I feel like I've heard that I can just drill new holes in the stock bumper for the 2" of lift. Is that true? If so, I'm surprised I'm getting out for $73.22!

If you can manage to get out for that price thats awesome. the company that had the long bolts in the diy thread didnt stock them anymore when I did mine, even though the website said they had them. That was several years ago now, so who knows. I ended up having to get them from fastenal, who didnt have them in stock and took forever to get them. Usually they get stuff next day. I have heard that some places wont sell them unless you order a whole box of them. if everything works out for that price, post it up in the diy thread so people will know.

and for the rear bumper you just flip the bracket and drill some new holes. I cant remember if you just flip them over, or swap sides and flip them to make it work. I also had to grind the corners off mine to make the bracket fit. the new hole was under the top left bolt i think. drill the hole in the bumper first, and then stick it on the truck using the two existing holes and stick some random bolts in the holes to hold it up in place so you can mark you the spot on the frame to drill the new hole.

I'm going to try and order the bolts in the next couple of days once I clear a couple of things, hopefully they do actually stock them.

Okay, awesome! That's easy. Why don't more people do that..? I see so many X's with body lifts and rear bumper gaps. Seems silly not to do it if it's that simple.

Hey guys - Little update. First off, thank you to all of you who offered to help me install my 2" BL. I have tracked all the parts, however, the ordering has been put on hold due to the job I took having some issues. There were ways the company approached some things that I couldn't bring myself to agree with, so, I've switched to a new job that I start on Monday and that obviously put the BL on hold. New install date is looking more like mid July. I'll try and reach out and give a couple weeks heads up. I would still love some help if anyone is able to make it. I'll let you guys know. Thank you again for the willingness to help!

I will never ask for help without providing beverages of choice. I already planned to buy Dave some. I'd be glad to provide for anyone that helps. Pending insurance to come to come confirm and provide check so that I can order the parts.

I'm a "learn as it breaks" or "Learn when you upgrade" guy when it comes to car stuff, so I will help in any way that I can. I will say that this is something I would check with Dave on first, just because IF we're still planning to do the BL at his house, I don't want to open it up. That'll be his call.

However, I'm more than glad to help with anything that I can.

I was impressed with shipping time.

Allens online website had every single pieces in stock and both the hardware and the pucks were here in two days. Now to buy PB blaster and start soaking everything down.
