Anybody know how wide can I go with an led light bar. And do they make a mount kit specific to xterra. I want as wide as I can get as low to the windshield as possible

I used a tape measure between the roof bars to see how much room was there.

I forgot what the distance was. If you could do me a favor, and measure that for me and post it here, that would be great!

- Thanks!

I think a 40" is about as wide as you can go, I had a 50" and it stuck out a few inches on each side so I never mounted it. Have a 30" now ill be putting on the bumper.

I thought about using the bars but I don't think I can get as low as I would like that way

You can make brackets to the bars though...even though the bar can be forward of them.

The roof curves though, so the width of the bars is a limit, unless you are OK with the ends of the bars being in mid-air/past the flat part of the roof profile. The bar mounts them selves are flared btw too....so the rack is not the same distance apart the entire length.

So, if you measure the distance between the bars, I forget the distance, you'd be about at the bar's length you probably want.

I'm glad you said that. I haven't measured yet but I was going to try 52". Although if they are too wide I could always mount toward the rear for some good ole fashioned up yours lights for people who like to tailgate with the hi beams

I appreciate that. I'll have to get out there tomorrow with the tape measure
