Bi led headlight projector recommendations

I have a 2011 Nissan xterra. I want to upgrade the stock lights to bi led projectors. I found ones from hid projectors and hid retrofit kit. Does anyone have any experiences with these brands or recommendations? They both use their own projectors the main differences is hid projectors has a demon eye and the retrofit one doesn’t. I don’t car for the demon eye. The retro fit is almost $200 cheaper with a lifetime warranty and hid is a 1 year warranty. For anyone that has these upgrades, did you have any issues with inspection? I am in pa.

I've done several retofits. Always self manufactured. I'm currently running Morimoto bi-led projectors in my 04. I've built 3 1st Gen retros and 2 2nd Gen sets. To do a proper retro takes work and attention to detail. To make sure that everything is aimed properly and supported properly. The 2nd Gen headlights are much easier to do a retro based on the curvature of the existing reflector. It's a lot easier to get everything lined up.

If you're keen to do it yourself, theretrifitsource is the best. That's where I've always bought parts from. I agree on the demon eyes. Not a fan. I think what a lot of these companies are doing is buying from retro resale, and building in house and selling for a profit.

Including housings and parts I'm into about $600 for the set I have now. Not factoring the time that went into the build.

If you want a buy and bolt set, keep price in mind. Also remember that someone is doing it. It's not a mass manufacturer. If they're willing to wtty it, it could be worth it if the product is as advertised.

If I decide to do it myself, is there anything I should know for it any parts need to be cut for clearance and what specialty tools I would need.

An oven, a screwdriver, a dremel with one of those tubular cutting bits for opening up the bulb socket to accept the projector, 2-part epoxy, patience, alcohol.
