LOL The patience thing is KILLING ME!
I had to blow some gems to speed things up, otherwise I'd go insane. Thank the gobbles of war that they hid gems all over the field in the trees and stuff...otherwise, I might have walked off and forgot to come back.

Ouch, I figured as much, as even stuff under level 11 is taking a coupla days lately.
BTW - I started making dragons, but, the training starts, chugs along for a half hour, and then STOPS w/o making the dragon.
I have 5 dragons right now, and, there's room in the army camps - but, I can't get any more.
Is there a limit on how many of a particular soldier/fighter, etc, you can fit into the camps?

Housing spaces....OK, I see that now. Barbarians and Archers take one space each, so 5 dragons takes up as much space as 100 of them.
If you upgrade the camps, does it give more housing spaces? (I don't see housing spaces listed in info for the camps...specifically...but there's a number that's probably it?)

Yeah that's what I'm guessing. ....I just stayed play a day ago but if you upgrade your camps it gives you more room

Click on your camp and click info it will tell you how much space you have in all your camps combined.
Yeah, I thought it was per camp, but no matter what the level is of the camp you click, it always gives the total for all of them.

Well, we do have a war about to start....so, you'll be up front taking it for the team.
I had started a shield while I was under construction...so, I think I'm going to be out for all or most of this battle.
I can donate troops though, so, hit me up with requests.

Clan wars have no bearing on your shield or your gold/elixer stores.
That confuses me...as the game says that I can't be attacked when the shield is up, and, it says when you attack, you can TAKE the loser's gold and elixir/dark elixir....(A percentage)?
They take it but you still have it?

Yes. In a regular attack, you will lose your shield and resources. In clan war, it doesn't effect any of that.
So....there are two types of attack...a clan war, and "regular"?
I was just through a clan war, and nothing happened...does that just mean the other clan didn't choose to attack, as opposed to the shield preventing it?

I don't think your base was in the last clan war. You are in this one.
If you look at the bottom left corner of the game, there is an attack button and a war button. If you click on attack, you will be matched up against someone in a battle. This will deactivate your shield and you will gain or lose trophies depending on the outcome of the attack. You will also acquire any resources you steal in that attack.
War can only be started by the leader of the clan. It puts our clan vs another one. War lasts 24 hours and you can attack twice. Your Shield and resources are not effected. You will gain resources for clan victory in war though.

I see a long learning curve ahead.
Right now, I wanted to decide if I should stop upgrading resources (A canon can take several days, and will not be able to fire during a clan war if in the middle of upgrading?), and start building up walls with the builders instead, etc.
Any advice?

Learning curve again...
If you are upgrading during a clan war, the unit will be at the level you are upgrading to. If you get attacked randomly(not war related) and are upgrading, the unit with not be functional.
I suggest wall upgrades. Defences can only withstand so much direct fire, walls afford them protection.

OK, so my defense is just what's in the clan castle...
On offense, is it the same?
Is it possible for me to get my dragons in there for use as air assault, etc?
How about a Barbarian King, how does one get one into your clan castle?
If I get a Hidden Tesla, can the attacking forces attack it? Does it have hit points/damage resistance, etc?
What's the difference between a Seeking Air Mine, and an Air Bomb?
Once you attack, is there a way to direct a particular troop or troops to concentrate on a specific target/avoid a potential trap, etc?

You castle only holds what people donate to you. If you click on the clan castle and click request troops, people will send you some.

OK, I did two attacks, on Crasus and Mikey in this war, and, on Crasus, I uses 5 dragons, and they pretty much negated the walls, as they simply flew in and started burning stuff...by the time I figured out how to send anything ELSE, they had already pretty much destroyed the enemy village.
On Mikey, I had no dragons, so I used a few archers/barbs to draw out their defenses/find the traps, then sent in giants and barb king/queen and more archers/barbs to take out their giants, and make holes, so invaders could follow in through the holes. I used healers for the first time to keep the troops damage down as they drew fire, which worked well...I think its a good technique.
I see what you mean about dumb troops though...they can be under fire from a canon or archer tower, etc, and just keep shooting at a mine right nest to the threat instead of the threat, etc.
Placing them at least in the vicinity of where an attack might have a good chance of getting through helps, but, I did see many just wander off and hit random targets that WOULD have been best left for last/mop up type operations.
I liked watching the replays on the Mikey and Crasus attacks though, as it gave me insights as to future attacks.

We had another clan war right after the one above, and I didn't receive any notice of it, just one message, that it was OVER...nothing about it having been declared, started, being fought, etc...?
How do we know there was a clan war other than the messages like I received for the first one?
Was it a program glitch, or, was there some other way that was supposed to tell me?
I HAD seen in chat that some one said they were under attack, but NOTHING about a clan war....so I thought it was the non-clan war type person to person attacks.
Help?

No other clan war. The notifying system sucks. It will often not clear itself and double notify you.
On your screen there are two crossed swords. If they have a ! next to them then something has happened. Either a war had started or ended. Had to leave the clan. Combination of having way too many inactive members and, more importantly, becoming an inactive members myself. I'm in the middle of my move to Texas and see myself playing less and less over the next month or so. So, instead of bogging the team down with (3) more inactive members, I popped chute. Once I get settled in Texas I would love to come back to the team; if there is still space. Clan seems to be growing nicely now. I started another clan just to keep my bases together and be able to donate troops to myself. You can join it if you want but I wouldn't advise it. Ya got a good thing going here and you would be leaving one clan with inactive members to join another with inactive members (me). Good hunting! Youuu, Meee, Usss.

BTW - I got the notification about the war I MISSED AFTER the war I was IN...and I know I could not be in it, because no one saw me on the war map/there was no option to join it, etc. So, I was in one, got a start and end notice for it, then, got an end notice with no start notice for the one I missed, which said I got killed twice in the battle I wasn't at to boot.

Also, after the clan war, I got attacked (non-clan) by raiders who only wanted gold and elixir....over and over and over again....and I watched the replays, and the Barbarian King for example I had standing guard....never seemed interested in the raiders. He just kept puttering around exactly like he did when nothing was happening....
So, he worked for attacking, but, on "Guard" he seems to be a bit aloof about it? As in he did nothing, not to even wander over and see who's stealing loot, etc. WTF?
Is there something I need to do to make him GUARD the village?
The setting SAID "GUARD", the other setting was sleep. On sleep, he lays down and produces a string of zzzzzzzz's, so, that setting seems pointless...is there a use for it? On "Guard" he wanders around like he's on patrol...but, if attacked, he STILL just wanders around, but does nada....
