Anyone in Alaska or knows of good trails in AK?

First Fill-Up (of many)
So I'm having a dreaded time in Alaska when it comes to off roading. I live and work in Denali National Park, which seems to sit between Anchorage and Fairbanks. I can't find ANY off road parks or trails near me. I've taken SOME unpaved trails and they usually lead up to someones house (the road didn't have any sign or marker or mailbox on there so how the hell do I know?). I've been googling the hell out of trails near me, and it seems to be on the OTHER highway that goes from Anchorage to Fairbanks. Fairbanks is about 2 hours away from me, and if I'm not mistaken, Anchorage is 3 hours. It's getting pretty depressing that there aren't any unpaved off road trails near me or even in what I consider a decent driving distance. You would think, oh Alaska, there should be TONS of trails to go off roading. It's pretty much ALL nature here! But nope. I have yet to find one near me (I'd say an hour drive is what I'd do to go to a trail, especially on my own).

So then I started looking up some off road groups in Alaska. Yea, not a whole lot out here...I've seen some AWESOME rigs on the road, but I'm sure they have their own clicks they hang with and from what I've seen, I wouldn't fit in.

I'm definitely thankful for this job and for the location, but very disappointed when it comes to opportunities to off road in my area. The only thing I know of is the Denali Highway. Apparently it's like 120 miles of unpaved road that takes you into some spectacular areas, but it's not a REAL off road area. Just a scenic back country road that connects two highways and opens mid May.

I would really like to go with someone on some trails because with the snow melting, it can make some trails (like I said haven't seen in my area, but in general) pretty nasty and wouldn't want to get stuck somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Sigh.

Need to talk yo the locals. I've done a little research and they seem to be very guarded about sharing the info especially on the internet.
