AC not blowing hot

05x4x4

First Fill-Up (of many)
This vehicle is a 2008 Pathfinder, he says when the vehicle is driving it blows just fine and is hot. But when he sits at a light and is idling the heater stops blowing hot air.

Anyone have any ideas, and Mods can put this in a better section if need be.

Heat is a product of the engine coolant running through the heater core in the dash. Has he tried revving the engine while stopped to see if that helps? The water pump may be bad and not pushing enough volume at idle to heat the cabin. How does the engine temperature gauge look?

Heater core is located on the engine side of the thermostat. As long as fluid is moving, there is fluid moving in the core.

Sounds like you need to burp your coolant system also check to make sure you aren't low on coolant. Had the same problem a while back and that's what I did to fix it.

That's what mine was slightly low coolant and then I had an air bubble that came out when I cranked it.
