Let me preface this by letting you know that I am not an Officer of this club. I am a Supporting Member and an appointed member of the NEXterra Events Committee (means I give my stupid opinion when asked and lead an event once in a while). NEXterra is not a commercial enterprise, no one is making money or getting paid in any way.

NEXterra (North East Xterra Club) is a Nissan Xterra based off-road club in the north eastern United States.

NEXterra was formed from the merger of the New England Xterra Club and the Upstate New York Xterra Club in 2005.

The merger created one of the largest Xterra clubs in the United States boasting over 450 members, including 40 dues paying “Supporting Members”, and a large, active email list.

The goal of NEXterra is to help Xterra owners in the Northeast get to know each other, exchange information on where to wheel, help each other out with modifications and plan 4×4 off-roading trips.

While it is primarily about taking the Nissan Xterra off-road, it welcomes stock Xterra owners to join the club as well, so that they can take advantage of the forum.

NEXterra leads or has been involved with one or two off road events each month for the last ten years making it one of the most active off-road clubs in the USA.

A number of events require Membership to wheel on private land, a land fee or Supporting Membership however all events (but one, ECXC) are open to all makes of 4WD vehicles.

There is a core of folks that attend more of these runs than others so you might feel intimidated to join in. Let me assure you, these folks are all looking out for you, your truck and your good time.

There are four “Major Club Runs” per year.

The Northen eXposure Run in January.

The April Fools Run in April (duh).

The Xterra Only East Coast Xterra Challenge (ECXC) in July at Rausch Creek.

And The Back 2 School Run (B2SR) in September.

These are supplemented by a Halloween Night Run in November and a Toys for Tots Run in December.

In addition there are many ”Regional Runs”, Meet & Greets, Mod Days and “Supporting Member Runs” (open to NEXterra Supporting Members only).

If you own an Xterra, a Nissan or any 4WD vehicle, live in the North-East and have any thoughts of taking your truck off road you should do yourself a favor and check out NEXterra, attend a NEXterra event and maybe become a Supporting Member!.

The "hook" side is on the patch so I can stick it to my roof liner.

Kinda cool...

So far this year the North East Xterra Club (NEXTerra) has had four Off-Road Events; “The Northern Exposure Run” in January, “April Fools Run” in April, a “Summit/Ma Bell Run in June and “The East Coast Xterra Challenge” in July.

Next weekend is the clubs’ premier event, “The Back to School Run”. An open event that welcome all makes and models, with an awesome event shirt and sticker. Has a raffle that features very cool items donated by generous sponsors that support our sport and a kick ass BBQ! At the end of October or beginning of November there is usually a “Halloween Run” and in December a “Toys for Tots” run.

There are also “Supporting Member Runs” throughout the year.

NEXTerra has been doing this for years.

Why not get involved with the most active off-road club geared at your truck?

Check out the club’s ad free forum board; https://www.nexterra.org/nexterra/

I have yet to find any other off-road club or group, Nissan, Xterra or other, anywhere as active or welcoming as The North East Xterra Club (NEXterra) is and has been for over fifteen years.

This year to date NEXterra Officers, Event Committee Members and Supporting Members have hosted the two location Northern eXposure Run (30 trucks) and have at least six more runs in the next five months planned that include; “Open Runs”, “Supporting Member Runs” and the twentieth anniversary of the Xterra exclusive e East Coast Xterra Challenge (ECXC) in July!

I really can not understand how anyone in the northeast driving a Nissan Xterra would not get involved…you’re missing out on a great time.

I am almost there, a lil more work to be down and then down for some meets!!
If you haven't, go check out their forum. Bunch of great dudes and ladies.

Nexterra.org

Also, there are tons of people that would be willing to let you ride shotgun if you want to get out and meet people before your rig is ready

I'm in the same boat as Me!Here! , I looked at the list of thing's you HAD to have to go on a run and I was like Dam : But I do understand why you need each thing , it just take's time . I'm just now replacing the suspension first , then maybe metal bumper's and or small stuff here and there over the summer so I can at least do some Kiddy trail's or such come fall.

What list? The only one I know of is the Tech Inspection list which is just basic shiat. We've had plenty of bone stock X's out at Rausch.

There are certain runs that have stricter requirements though due to the specific trail(s) being run.

I looked into one of the run's and It had a checklist of stuff - CB radio-a real first aid kit-at least one tow point-recovery equipment-seemed like a lotta smaller stuff ? I coulda been reading a list for a harder trail and everything on the list make's sense . :)

Ya probably meant this list of

the minimum a person wants to have with them to run Green type trails with us their first time.

Air pressure gauge

Baling wire

Basic Tool Set

Electrical tape

Jumper Cables

Full Size Spare Tire

Tow Strap (no metal hooks)

D-Ring or two

Vehicle jack capable of lifting you truck enough to change your tire on the trail.

Gloves

Duct tape

Tire plug kit

Water

Snack or food

Key words are “wants to have”.

The only thing you must have besides a maintained vehicle in working order to run “Stock” at Rausch with NEXterra is a full size spare and water. We ain’t taking you out into the wilderness and will make sure you and your truck get off the trail. No one is ever left behind.
