"a" wire on xrc winch

So a few wheeling trips ago the "a" wire from the winch disconnected and I'm trying to find where it goes back on the damn thing. For a while I thought the winch wasn't gonna work with that off and for some reason it does.

What do?

I am pretty sure the A wire is the ground from the motor back to the battery. There is a screw on the bottom of the motor where is should be attached. Your ground from the solenoid should also be attached there.

Ding ding! Thats your main ground. Goes directly to battery negative. The motor is probably grounding through the bolts right now. Which is fine if there's no load.

Is this not "A" running from the solenoid to the winch? "-ve" running from winch to battery?

hey thanks again for helping me out its all back together. the cable in question is in red and pairs with the wire in yellow with the same bolt. I imagen when i reclocked everything that was the one i did not put back and it just fell down on day and made me think it fell off. DERP!
