Hello guys, first an intro, names Greg, I’m from Canada.
Some LS swap history, lots of Subaru swap and Honda swap stuff, certainly not new to making mounts, making harness’s the list goes on.
Yes I have searched, for a couple of days now. It’s unfortunate that social media has hurt the forum pages as much as it has but I’m hoping there is still some help lingering here.
I have a 2015 Pro-4X Xterra in the yard, bought for a song, motors done in it. I can just drop a 4.0 back in but that’s no fun.
I’m aware and have read through the swaps on here, for the most part it’s bolt in. It’s great.
Here’s the dilemma. I have a 2007 Titan, floor shift, so pre VVT I beleive. It’s shot, frames done etc and the price is GREAT on it. What is the compatibility going to be like using the gear from that into a 2015? I have read that they changed things 13-15 then I have read 05-11 and 12-15, I can’t find any clear answers.
I have the entire Titan. It makes way more sense to keep it and make that work then to source 2015 Titan parts, stuff will nickel and dime in a hurry going that way. The whole idea with this little project is to keep it affordable, it isn’t a daily, no smog up here and no big rush to do it but it’ll give me something to putter with for the winter.
So on another whim, even if we say okay, the 2015 modules won’t be happy talking to the 2007 ecm and engine harness. Can anyone tell me what the ACTUAL year split is for when modules are unhappy or happy…
Furthermore. It doesn’t really seem like much has changed in the Xterra world between 2005-15, my seats are manual, but heated, it does have hill decent, it is auto. Is it an option to grab a rotted out 2007 up here and just switch the entire harness?
I mean in theory, rust belt, I could snag a toast 2007 xterra up here and essentially use the 2015 as a roller, it’s clean and rust free, put the harnesses in the 2015 from the 2007. Id still financially be way ahead of the game from sourcing engine and trans from a 2015 Titan.
If I have to do the latter of swapping a chassis harness, does anyone know if the dash harness/ interior fuse boxes changed?
Did the door harness’s change?
Heated seats and SRS wiring for the seats and bags the same? (Example can you bolt 2015 seats in a 2007 and the heated seats/bags plug and play)
I’ve played on rock auto and car part a bit. It looks like headlight/ tail light assemblies have remained the same, anyone have any insight if there’s a split on HVAC stuff?
If you made it this far, thank you for your time
