30 percent loss of gas mileage

I bought a 2006 xterra 6 months ago. It’s been one issue after another. So far I’ve had to replace the parts of my exhaust, engine and trans mounts, and just replaced the spark plugs and the radiator and replaced all the fluids..transfer case rear and front dif and engine oil. After replacing the rad my mileage went down by 30 percent! I intermittently throw a code for one of my cats. Bank 2 but that has been happening since I bought the xterra. So not new.
I feel like I’m working to just to keep fixing it. I’m so frustrated. Any ideas what would cause such a huge drop in my gas mileage? I have read the many discussions on loss off gas mileage on here.

Those Cats are notorious for coming apart inside and plugging the secondary ones. I would have them pulled and checked and you're probably looking at replacing at least the primary on that side.

200,000.
Here’s the thing, I bought it in
March. Got it inspected. Had everything on the red fixed..$3700. Leaf springs tie rods bearings brakes etc. add now another 3grand for the other repairs. I trusted the inspection. I agree that it’s maintenance but it’s like I’m rebuilding the entire vehicle. It seems Neverending.

I don’t think that’s entirely accurate. I’ve bought used before. I just think I may have bought a lemon.
Or a vehicle meant to be mechanic owned

The early 2nd Gen ones had their issues. There's no doubt about that.

I think you'll really enjoy it once you get it fixed up. Again, 200k is a bunch of miles. Nothing in a vehicle is intended to last that long.

I have had to do primary cats, radiator, timing shoes, valve covers, steering rack, replaced the entire suspension (lift), replaced the t-case, and plenty of other stuff to mine. But I really like my Xterra and I'm not easy on it either. But there's no other vehicle I've owned that I've had to do much less with over 150k miles.

Maintenence is cheaper than car payments so I'll keep it going till my middle daughter gets old enough to drive and takes it from me I guess.
