Thanks BigJim! Had to get it at the right moment. There was this one one-lane bridge that I was trying to hit before sundown, and it just seemed that I couldn't get a right photo for it because there were vehicles always coming down the road. I was so aggravated.

Maybe it was the same guy. Kept crossing to watch you get in and out of your truck over and over to move out of the way and reposition again. Some people just want to watch the world burn...

Could be. As I tried to snap a shot, there was this one dude in a truck in the other side, so I ran back to my vehicle and drove pass him and have him the "wave". He just scoffed and sped off. Rich white people here in Lexington... Makes me mad.

Who cares, keep your photos if you like them! After all it is your build and your truck, I thought they looked pretty cool.

Ok guys..

A certain picture was noticed on fb that was a cool pic.. But I asked that it not be added on XN due to treadlightly issues with it.

Me and jch agreed that it wouldn't come here..

If you have issues with this please feel free to hit me up in PM about it.

There was controversy to my photos because they weren't on trails. Saddening to remove them.

^ What he said.

Who was causing controversy?? If you wanna post them, post them!

If you guys are not aware of what tread lightly is or does, you need to visit the website....

Oh gotcha, I thought he was saying he was getting flack because he wasn't offroading, and they were more pose shots, that's why I said who cares In case you didn't get that...

That was me too!

But yeah, I'm not SUPER familiar with Treadlightly but I have read through their website several times and I didn't even catch anything with his pictures, but like I said, not extremely familiar..

ANYWAY! /endthreadjack :D

It wasn't that he was tearing anything up, but if asked about a location, "wandering in the woods" is not going to appease the guys from TL.

Carry on, and like I said dude.. Get on some trails and get those awesome photos going.

JCHERRERA1988'S Blackout Build

I agree, somebody stole my crossbar.

Anyways, it's relatively easy. I made a DIY with some hi def pictures on xterraperformance.com's blog.

Just read that DIY on the risers. Nice job, man. I was looking into those for a while, but I don't have any headlight hoops to mount them to.

Hey man, thanks.

Another option for people without bumpers is to have wing pins installed under the hood. So when it's closed it hangs out ontop of the fenders.

honestly thats probably the best option for these as opposed to having a permanent tab on the bumper, so they definitely don't move or slip when caught up on something, trees are a mofo we bent a ford f150 rear bumper on a sapling that it caught while hunting

Oh wow, that's unfortunate.

A tip on these though, make sure all hooks and screws are facing either inward or downward, try to be as down ward as possible. They'll grab leaves, small branches, squirrels, etcetera.

• Work-Related...

CAUTION: This place will make you reminisce about Jurassic Park. I was humming the theme song majority of the time. I'm pretty sure my co-pilot Donny heard me.

So, my other job held an obstacle course for a good cause towards Veterans. So I had to recon the areas, plant flags, create pathways etc. So, the Adventure Rig was ready! With me was my buddy's Jeep, and a newly made friend's (Ian) H3T Alpha. Thing was ridiculous. He beat the crap out of it, and it pushed through whatever came in it's way. He also owns the zip-line , which ended the obstacle course, and hooked us up with cabins to stay in for the night.

It was here that I rigged a rope station, where the competitors would have to climb 75-100ft of rope... AFTER being soaked in a lake swim.

Ian (H3T owner), was admiring the Gobi. He was looking into one himself.

AFTER SHOT_zpss8foory7.jpg

This is the last shot I took. What I gained from this trip was confidence in my off-roading abilities, and the importance of recovery gear. Sean (Red-Jeep guy) immediately bought a winch a month later.

SNOWPACOLYPSE OF 2014

So, Central KY was hit with a crazy snowstorm. It reminded me of Montana. I enjoyed it, but friends, family and acquaintances; not so much. Unfortunately, I was out for a whole week, so I couldn't test the roads to see how they were. Thankfully, I recovered to about 80%, and ventured out for groceries, taking my sister to work (who has a Scion XB), and see if anyone needed help. I haven't been this excited to play in the snow in a very long time. :)

Firstly, a newly acquainted friend who goes by "Tom", helped me install the lights! Hella 500s. Eventually, I want to throw on some amber filters to cut through snow, rain and fog. He's a guru when it comes to these things! Also, has a very respectfully modded Jeep. Also, Jeremy (El_RobotX) helped me installing an IAB, and just coming to hang out. It's later that I would then swap out my parking lights for LED parking lights, thanks to Jack Stilts and his inspiration. I'd also buy some D-Rings. I was definitely overdue.

And then the snow came... School was called out for nearly 2 weeks, while one of those weeks, I remained sick.

IMG_0361_zpsbhzhnme5.jpg

Me being a morning person, gave me GREAT opportunities for photography shots. Especially when it was nearly 7 am in negative degree weather; no one left the house. Lucky for me, I love cold weather, and driving the X through it. Carefully of course.

"There's no such thing as cold weather, just inadequate clothing."

I would even fool some people by joking, and saying that I was at McMurdo Station in Antarctica.

Lastly...

It was that time of the month of when I had to pack up my things, and move, because my lease was up at the apartment. It's times like this where my Gobi rack really does shine, as well as challenges my organization skills. But at the same time, it's moving; It's a love-hate thing.

Anyways, this rack is great. I've carried packs, bags, totes, beds, frames, desks and couches. It has done everything I wanted and more. A few days prior, I apply the Hella 500 filters for a cheap alternative for amber lighting. Also, D-Rings. It's about time.

Memorial Day Run with Jeremy (El_RobotX)
...and new friend Shaun, with a great 4Runner build. Had a blast. We actually did the Kentucky Adventure Trail. They did a huge dent in it (camping out for a few days), while I only did a very small portion, before I had to head home. I would LOVE to do it again.

seXTERRA - Kentucky Chapter Meet
Met up with Patrick Whittington, who created this little shindig. Of course, I invited all of my friends with an X in Central Kentucky. It was good to have Xers meet up in Jeep country.

So, now I bombarded you with all these photos, I can tell you what's in store for 2016.

• Rear Tire Carrier - Hardcore Fab, or Shrocks. Debating!
• Tire/Rim Swap - Thanks to TJ Hensley for selling me some Desert Runners (Wanting a smaller rim). Also going to get BF Goodrich KO2s. Heard nothing but great things from the tire. Also, my Coopers have lasted me 6 years, and are somewhat close to balding. I told myself that this would be the last winter with these.
• Winch? Looking into Warn or Smittybilt. Opinions?
• Snorkel? Last minute thing, but we'll see how funds go!
• Also, I would like to re-format my limb-risers. I've learned that spring tension is a must, versus straight tension in wooded environments.

Hey welcome back! Good to see the X is still having some fun.

Snagged some Desert Runners, eh? I'm a little partial to those ;) and those new BFGs are so beefy.

Opinion on the winch - don't get Smittybilt. That is something you don't want to fail when you need it, so spend a little extra on quality. Warn, Viking, etc. Again, just my $0.02!
