1st Gen - For Sale 2002 Nissan Xterra - Parting Out // Parts Truck

Hey fellow Xterra owners, after many years of wrenching and driving I’ve made the hard decision to put down my Nissan Xterra. Last December I started to notice a subtle transmission grind when down shifting… I freaked out, dropped the pan and serviced my transmission with fresh Nissan fluid and prayed for the best. The grind didn’t go away, but it stopped getting worse. Then last Sunday my truck started misfiring… I’ve checked for vacuum leaks, plugs and wires, cleaned the MAF sensor but no luck. I’ve got a backup vehicle ready to go so I’m parting out this truck out.

This 1st Gen Xterra has some nice parts…

  • OEM Aluminum Alloy wheels with good tires (Cooper Evolution with 34k miles on them)
  • Full original spare tire (rim is rusty but original tire is mint)
  • Lightly used OEM Distributor (only 13k miles on it)
  • All Aluminum Radiator
  • Spare Autozone Radiator (only used a few months)
  • Stainless Steel Radiator Support (got this when my original rusted out)
  • Professionally Rebuilt Nissan Quest Alternator (rebuilt in July 2021)
  • Stainless Steel Headers (Blackhorse Racing ebay headers…)
  • OEM 200 Watt Rockford Fosgate Amp
  • Bilstein Shocks (42k miles on them)
  • Headlight Assembly’s
  • Matte Black and White Roof Rack
  • 50 watt solar panel wired to battery tender trickle charger
  • Grey Bunny fur headliner
  • Interior front Seats in good condition, rear seats ok.
  • ValvoMax Oil Change drain plug
  • Freshly Cleaned and Oiled K&N filter
  • Free Bull Horns welded to the hood, LOL

Need an engine, window, door or body panel? Hit me up. I’ve also got extra maintenance items like oil filters, oil, brake fluid, gaskets, etc.

This vehicle is located in Nothern Illinois, about 10 minutes off I-90 in Genoa, Illinois.

As you can see I did a lot with this thing. I’m the third owner and have complete service records so feel free to send any questions. Email me at carrytrainer.editor@outlook.com

i can safely say, you are the only Xterra I have ever seen with side pipes.

I understand the frustration with misfiring. Im dealing with the same exact thing right now, and also considering parting mine out because of it. Hope it all sells!

Those patriot side pipes were fun. Nice sound with my cheap headers without being too loud.

With the misfire usually it's gotta be fuel, air or spark. When I was trying to fix mine I noticed the MAF sensor mount was broken loose (the screws broke free from the plastic piece. The senor was loose in the intake tube). I also found one spark plug was completely shorted and replaced that. Inspite of that the truck was still missing. I could tell there wasn't a vacuum leak because after it warmed up the idle would settle down at 600 rpm.

Anyway, I wish you luck on fixing yours. Let me know if you need some used fuel injectors! Lol...

I do t know that I need it, but out of curiosity, what would you want for the whole distributor unit?
My original distributor crapped out a while back... and I believe that commonly fail on nissan xterras with age. I tried cleaning the contacts but I had to replace the whole thing. From what I've read on these forums the non-OEM distributors don't work so good.

I'm confused. I thought you said it was an OEM distributor?

I'm sorry, I thought you asked why you would want a whole distributor unit. I have the Hatachi one... they made the original Nissan distributor I heard. Anyway, the distributor was the first thing to sell off my truck... $60 plus shipping to a gentleman in Vermont.

I'll start editing the parts list above to reflect what's gone...
