Cool video. Now if I could just learn to paint that fast... :kewl:

Dave's a driven man when it comes to modding his X. The rate of speed at which he can bust out a mod is virtually incomparable. We mere mortals are pretty much left to just shaking our heads in humble amazement.... :zomg:

LOL - I'm gonna be right there with you in the "not taking it off" camp when I finally get mine done to match the rest of the grill / rocker panels and rear bumper. (Which would be in Rustoleum Hammered Black, of course!)

Yea, I just primed and painted it (initially) to get thru the winter until I have time to actually prime and paint it

James (if I may call you James),

Since you make the front bumper from a basic design and customize the face, I'm guessing the frame connections, winch mounting plate and bolt holes are all the same (GEN specific). With that understanding I'm asking if you have or have plans for skid plates that bolt up to your bumper's basic design framework? And if so, does it require the use of the OEM skid like others do?

From what I've read, it seems skids and bumpers are not mix and match.

I know RLC is willing to do skids.. At this time he does not offer one.. One of us Gen 1 guys need to get up there so he can design off of.. (Been a money issue for me)

I did ask this question when I visited his shop in Nov.

Ill let James up in from here..

Thanks for the update. My plan is to swap out this Shrock for the RLC front. Since I don't have skids yet, figured I'd better check now.
Problem for me is that it's a 5 hr drive to KY.

The bumper is going to have a $50 surcharge via fedex no matter what. Add 50-75 to that to get a ballpark, so $100-$125 should get it anywhere in the country.I'd prefer to quote zip codes individually.

I just shipped two large chevy bumpers to TX via fastenal and am looking in that direction for a better deal on these large bumpers. (they haven't arrived yet so I'll have to evaluate the whole deal on both ends to see if it's feasible.

Thanks,

James

If somebody wants to go all the way to Virginia to pick mine up and bring it back when his done he can use my 2nd Gen. I'm not there to use it anyway.

To give you an idea its about 7 hours 450 miles from my parents to Louisville.

Nice work...and still $575 + shipping?

Correct.

I highly recommend giving this guy your business. Not only does he make a fantastic product, he will work with you on any changes and he's fast. If he made a rear I would cancel my 3 month old order with Sh#$k in a heartbeat. Plus quality products for the Xterra aren't easy to come by. This is why its important to support people like James at RLC. I didnt mean to sound like a commercial, these
just my thoughts.

I can't and won't speak for anyone else so this is just my comment. After really searching around, reading up on, speaking to companies, I made the decision to buy my own equipment to make my own sliders, bumpers and skids. The asking prices were just too D@MN expensive based on what I find for material costs. Then you have to add shipping costs. Most of the new suppliers that comes out with a great looking product that I've spoken to only make them for GEN2's. With the addition of RLC and what I've seen, at this point I'd buy a front bumper from him(them). I still will most likely get my own equipment for sliders and a rear, but for now as soon as I get some other thing done I'll order a RLC front.

End of testimonial... :lolz:

Very much like the layout of the bumper. I take it that the mounting plate for the winch is there? And how big of a winch can you cram behind that thing? I can't see from the pictures. Also, w/ the 4" round fog light openings, what lights are made to fit and finish those? Because, I would definitely have new fogs. Price is right as well....though I may have to make a rear bumper a priority since 33's are coming sooner rather than later and I NEED to have a full size spare at that point.

I've got a smittybilt XRC-8 with the solenoid mounted above synthetic cable. If you mount the solenoid some place else you'd have another 3"-4" of height, and there's a decent amount of space around it still. As for the lights, I just picked up a set of 4" 55W rounds off amazon and they fit well on the tabs he has in there. I've really been enjoying this bumper :)
