Dude, I need more pictures of this 3rd Gen f-body.

From this one angle it looks fairly clean.
It's very clean. It sat in a garage in NC most of its life. And it's been in a garage as long as I've owned it as well. I only got to drive it a couple times after my kids came along. 5 butts and only 4 seats didn't make a lot of sense to spend my little bit of free money on.

Now that they are old enough to stay home, the wife and I can enjoy this car some. I've got a few mild mods planned, gears, headers, some TBI mods, but otherwise it'll stay as is. It's too clean to me with. The A/C even works.

Very nice. Most 3rd (and 4th gens) you see have not been taken care of, so it's nice to see one that has a good home and is well kept.

I always liked this gen of Camaro & Trans Am. I feel like they are the least appreciated which usually means you can get em for a good price (bonus!)

Not really for the RS w/ the 305. That engine is a pig. Now, the Z28 w/ the correct engine, that's a different story.
ANY nice body is climbing in price because of the ease of doing a LS swap in them. The 5.7L Z28/IROC are pretty rare anyways and getting rarer every day. Admittedly the V6 and LO3 cars are still cheaper but even so, you wouldn't touch my LO3 RS for less than $8k. It's almost too nice...

Today was a busy day.

Upper radiator hose
Thermostat
Oil and filter
Fuel filter
Bled front brake
Lubricated caliper slides
New battery
Antifreeze

Restarted it and everything seems to be doing good. I've got to lube and bleed the rear brakes now. Also the pinion seal appears to be leaking. I'm torn on just replacing the seal or going to Dad's to see if I can find my 3.23 gear set for it.

Got it on the road yesterday! First time since 2011!

Took it out cruising around town a little. Found some more issues. Front rotors are warped, looks like that questionable drivers side brake hose is going to give issues and the tires are flat spotted BAD.

Otherwise it did great. My actual tags should be here in a week or so. Excited to have them.

Looks like first thing will be $200 in brake parts for the front. "While I'm in there" strikes again....

All three of the kids were like "you should give this car to me"..... haha!

Thanks guys! I'm ashamed it's taken this long to get it going but other things had to come first.

Ordered a new grill last night. That one is an original 1988 piece from a parts car. It was crumbling and I have no idea why it turned white after I rinsed the car off. $42 from Classic Industries for a re-pop.

I get it. There was no visual distinction between and RS and IROC except for some intake holes in the grille and the badge on the back.

New grill installed and the front plate is on. Also got the new brakes all installed. I've got to put the wheels on tomorrow and it'll be ready ride.

Looking good Terry!

My wife would kill me if I came home with a 3rd Gen f-body. If I had space to work on one though, it would be worth the risk.
My wife would kill me if I got rid of this one. She's even ok with me building a second one from one of my parts cars once this one is back in shape. She likes Camaros. We drove away from our wedding in my Dad's 1986 IROC. I wish he didn't sell it but I didn't have the space or time for it when he did.

My wife's not a car person. So she doesn't "get it"

I'd love to get a performance project car at some point. Don't know what it would be though.

I'm going back and forth between a set of Koni yellow struts and shocks for nearly $1k or some KYB AGKs for about $300. I'm not sure I'll get the full benefit from the Konis being a street cruiser vs a track car....
