Aftermarket polyurethane leaf and shackel bushings?

Anyone upgrade their bushings on the rear suspension (leafs and shackle bushings)? Tried to find the right Nolathane kit and even after confirming via phone with their support department I ended up with a kit that doesn't fit! Looks like they gave me a Nissan Hardbody kit which has M18 bolts...

    What is this transmission part??

Also, I tried to look through the Nissan parts diagrams but can't even find a diagram that shows this sensor, any ideas?

    What is this transmission part??

That makes sense. I'm assuming trying to track down a Nissan OE o-ring oil seal would be next to impossible, probably not something that's even sold individually but rather comes with the entire sensor itself... Any advice on where to get o-rings? I'm assuming you need specific...

    What is this transmission part??

Noticed some ATF fluid around my transmission oil pan; upon closer inspection looks like a bit of oil is seeping from this white plastic part, it also has a bit of movement (in/out wiggle) to it. I'm guessing this is held in by some sort of o-ring or gasket? What is it? Any quick fix to it...

Total Chaos 'king kong' steering rebuilt

Total Chaos is a California company, I have a hunch they've never seen snow nor road salt... their steering is burly, but road salt up in the PNW does seem to eat the bearings and bushings pretty quick... at least that what I think it is. Seems to only last a year or two. Just recently rebuilt...

    Removing rear o2 sensor?? - I'm stumped...

Trying to remove the rear o2 sensors, both the driver and passenger side. There is SO LITTLE room in there, I'm a bit stumped on how to get at them... Truck is 2004 4wd supercharged X btw. Anyone have any success with this? I know there are various o2 sockets, some with offset on the square...

Testing The Water For A Group Buy On Steering Kits.

Alright, update on this little saga of mine. Figured this might be useful for those who have the Total Chaos King Kong Steering system and also have a worn idler mounting pin... Looks like those TC teflon sleeves (i.e. bushings) are 1" ID... so odd considering they are sliding onto a Nissan...

Replaced Power Steering Gear Box - Steering Wheel Not Straight??

So just did more or less a full overhaul of my power steering - new plumbing, new gear box, full fluid flush. No more leaks! However, now my steering wheel is off-center when the truck is driving straight!? Not a lot, maybe 40-45deg, if that. At a loss of what I did wrong!?? The power steering...

Proper End Link Length With 3" Lift?

@Prime yeah, I've definitely read that! I'm just a bit worried b/c the truck does see a lot of on highway time on road trips, etc - we live in the mountains, so lots of windy mountain roads. I got rid of the rear sway bar, but worried about loosing the front in case of emergency handling...

1st Gen - Wanted Idler Arm

I guess so, but getting the dimensions right might be an absolute headache. Also, sleeves are usually thin and soft metal - making it that thick will probably create some weird wear patterns due to thick but soft material I'd imagine, but who knows. I think it might almost be easier to take...

Testing The Water For A Group Buy On Steering Kits.

My challenge is that I'm running the Total Chaos aftermarket steering with an aftermarket idler arm, which re-uses the Nissan idler arm bracket/pin. My pin is worn down, so I need to find an original Nissan replacement. Here is what I'm dealing with: Newer Nissan/Aftermarket arm on the left...

Should I Put Grease To Cover My Steering Gear Box Shaft Seal?

1st gen Xterras are known for getting a power steering leak from the sector shaft seal (the shaft to which the pitman arm attaches) I'm wondering if it makes sense to lather on some thick waterproof grease on the outside as a preventative measure to protect the seal? This is the area I'm...

    Power Steering Maintenance

You can just hook an extra clear hose to the power steering return line, turn the wheel side to side and watch the old fluid pour out into your drain bucket. Just keep topping off the reservoir until you see the clean new fluid coming out in the flush. Then reconnect. Easy, no mess, and actually...

Testing The Water For A Group Buy On Steering Kits.

Anyone has an OE idler arm for sale?? Nissan stopped making the high quality ones, now they sell a cheaper version which is the same as the aftermarket cheap ones. Ugh.

    Transmission Clunk+shake On Cold Start?

Update: seems like it was just a matter of high engine revs and the transmission engaging. When it's cold the engine will rev way above 800 at idler, more like 1400-1500, which makes for a rougher engagement when putting it into gear. As soon as the truck warms up, it goes away. I dropped the...

    Wild Coast X Build Thread

Been on the forum for a while, figured I might as well (finally) post some pics of my X and start this build thread! I'm in British Columbia, Canada. I got the X a couple of years ago and it has been a trusty exploration machine, getting me to some high and remote places. I've been wrenching on...

Proper End Link Length With 3" Lift?

Update, did a bit more research and measurements: Here is the mount-to-mount spacing on my truck (with 3" AC lift): 81mm = 3.2", longer than the 2-3/4" OE-spec spacing, but my sway bar is still tilted down (as in, end links not tall enough) I'm currently running poly end links from...
