yup....that's how ALL ac compressors operate ;-) if it's engaged @Zack, you'll see the face of the pulley rotating with the pulley/belt. when it's disengaged, the face will remain still while the pulley spins freely. It'll cycle on/off if it's working properly.

first thing I'd do is disconnect the trailer harness from under the bumper & pull the two respective relays out (located under pass. side kick panel). Get that variable out of the equation. If the lights remain on.....we can go from there.

This is for those who have done a VK swap on their rig. You may wanna be proactive in this & take the time to do crack the necessary bolts loose & put some antiseize on them. During your swap, if you didn't remove the power steering pump, and the bracket that holds the alternator/power...

I stole this one off of RockyMtnX's thread over on TNX about his winch bumper (I doubt he'd mind).... you can see the 'adapter' plate that bolts to the bumper...then wraps underneath the framerail.

Shrockworks makes a plate for the tow hook mounts....that bolts to the bumper...to give it that access. that'd work, rather than making it thinner to make that bend. I'll take a pic of mine for ya.

May 31, 2018 well....as my luck likes to go...the compressor is actually good. the way to test it w/out the engine on is to run a ground wire to the face of one of the bolt holes, and +12v wire to the single-wire harness. If it's good, the clutch will engage. Which is what mine did. So +12v...
