Installed Ironman lift yesterday, got a vibration now

I believe I’ve figured out the issue… thank you whoever it was that suggested loading the back up with weight. I loaded the cargo area up with close to 450 lbs. of 45 lb. Weightlifting steel plates, took it for a ride… just about eliminated the vibration. I think another 50-100 lbs would have...

Installed Ironman lift yesterday, got a vibration now

Checking front & rear with it in park & on the ground, 0 play anywhere in the rear, got the 1/4” wobble in the front driveshaft (not at the u joints… the whole shaft including the yoke… could be yoke splines???? That’s where my brain is at now. Heading over to my friends garage right now because...

Installed Ironman lift yesterday, got a vibration now

Well, here’s my plan for today… due to the fact that everything with the rear driveshaft is pretty solid & within 2 degrees of angle & the front driveshaft has that little bit of a wiggle (not at the u joints, the shaft itself), I’m going to remove the front driveshaft and test drive it & see if...

Installed Ironman lift yesterday, got a vibration now

After talking to a few buddies, they think the front shaft with a little “rotation” is normal, the rear being tight is not so normal. WTF do I do now? Thought for sure “dead balls” it was the u joints but noooo! I thinking the rear shaft pinion is still the issue. Just not sure where to take...

Installed Ironman lift yesterday, got a vibration now

The plot thickens… universal joints are solid, no play whatsoever, front driveshaft & rear. Now keeping that in mind… if I grab the rear driveshaft & try & turn it, it’s rock solid. When I do the same to the front driveshaft I get about a 1/4” play while trying to turn it. I put it in 4 high...

Installed Ironman lift yesterday, got a vibration now

Ya, I do have like 180,000 miles on it & absolutely dreading the idea of doing another shim. I’ll have to agree with the idea that after that many miles it is definitely worn in the factory position + the fact I’ve been driving with broken leaf springs for 3 years. I’ll give it a shot, Tanx again

Installed Ironman lift yesterday, got a vibration now

Here’s where I’m at now, 2 degree shims installed (correct direction), had a front end alignment set up for Saturday but think I’m going to hold off at the moment because I seriously think the alignment improved since the lift was installed. I just thought of something driving home from work...

What are “Z1’s” & OME? The dealer wants $150 for 4 bolts. Who is “Z1”?… OME… original manufacture?

Installed Ironman lift yesterday, got a vibration now

Did some shopping around, Nisstec has a 4 bolt adjustable kit (4 bolt) for $63), local dealer quotes me $150 for 4 bolts , anyway here’s my deal.., gonna buy the camber bolts from Nisstec & have the alignment tech install during the alignment & hopefully that will be the fix. I’ll keep y’all posted

Installed Ironman lift yesterday, got a vibration now

Yes, the shims are installed in the correct way, the 3 degrees are 12-12-10 degrees on the tail shaft of the transfer case- driveshaft-rear end housing. As far as I know that’s within the 3 degrees difference. Did take a good look at the camber of the front tires & will be picking up adjustable...

Installed Ironman lift yesterday, got a vibration now

Okay, here’s the deal… I’m at 15 degrees on driveshaft & 9 degrees on axle housing. What should I do? Everything I have read is get it between 1&3 degrees… ???? Is there some kind of other issue? Front end alignment (that’s happening shortly), or anything else I should consider?

Installed Ironman lift yesterday, got a vibration now

I have been informed that I did stick the gauge on while I had the back end on jack stands, wasn’t overly concerned at the time because I figured slap the 2 degree shims in & closed case… as soon as I can I will check it the correct way, on flat level ground … on the ground… & see where I’m...

Installed Ironman lift yesterday, got a vibration now

Picked up a pair of “Pro Comp” 2 degree shims, installed & vibration is exactly the same. I put a magnetic angle gauge on the driveshaft & rear end housing before the install (might have had the ass end of the truck on jack stands when I stuck it on, don’t remember), The driveshaft was 12...

Installed Ironman lift yesterday, got a vibration now

$29 for the shims on Ironman website, how can I be sure what degree I should get, or is it just a guessing game? The description for the 2 degree wedge says it changes the angle 1 degree. ???? Why are they named 2 Degree shims if it only changes it 1 Degree???? This is confusing at the least. I...

Installed Ironman lift yesterday, got a vibration now

Ya, definitely gotta get them as soon as possible, wish I had known this when I was putting it together. I’m going to use the new u bolts that came with the kit,(super heavy duty & way long enough), I’ll be contacting Ironman today & get them on the way. Did a little YouTube research & simple...

Installed Ironman lift yesterday, got a vibration now

Got everything buttoned up yesterday on the Ironman lift. Took it for a test drive & absolutely love it, only issue I have is a slight vibration from 25mph to 30mph. It’s not there before 25 & completely gone right after 30. Took it on the highway & got it up to 100mph, never smoother, I’ll bet...

    Nisstec lift kit

Here’s one more question, the entire reason for the lift is I had a “bang” in the rear when I hit a pot hole or dip in the road, thought with the miles I have it’s gotta be bad shocks. Ordered new bilstein’s & while installing, noticed I was missing almost an entire leaf on the drive side. The...
