    LED headlights

No, plugs fit good on my 2005 S OEM harness. The plug shown above fits into a small converter module, which has the right plug for a standard headlight socket. However as I said in my earlier post, I had to trim the back part of the OEM headlamp retaining ring (at left below), because the fan...

    LED headlights

Yes, both high and low. You have to put the bulb in the correct orientation to get the beams to focus right. Nineo II like this: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XC168CY

    LED headlights

I put the Nineo II's on my 2005 S, and they made a great improvement. However, to get them to fit I had to trim off the rear 1/2 of the OEM mounting ring so it wouldn't interfere with the rear-facing internal fan housing.

    The Dumb Question Thread

Yup that did it. Got a new starter from O'Reilly for $119, plus $10 to keep the core and maybe rebuild it. Two hours under the truck to do a 30 minute swap using crummy tools, now it leaps to life when I turn the key.

    The Dumb Question Thread

Stupid question: My 2005 X stopped starting, all the lights but no starter. Got under it and wifey hit the switch - nothing - I banged the end of the starter and it started. So R&R starter, right, nothing nefarious like a doomed controller box, right?

How To Turn Off Auto Re-lock Feature - 2nd Gen 2005

Thanks. I had read about that, but my 2005 S model does not blink the hazards no matter how long I hold the Lock or Unlock down.

How To Turn Off Auto Re-lock Feature - 2nd Gen 2005

When I'm getting gear in and out of my 2005 S, with the engine off and key out, it will lock by itself after a few minutes. Looked thru a few links and other sites but didn't see how to turn this feature OFF. (This is not the auto-lock feature when moving above 15 mph, or it's twin...

Trail Cooking - What Stove Do You Use

Traveling light I've used just a cheap propane single burner with little tanks the size of spray paint. Folds into a small case, very compact, easy to light and controllable. For multi-day camping it's a 20 lb propane tank with 3 way upright manifold. Lantern on top, then a folding table with 2...

Lower Rad Support Rust Repair - Got Carried Away

This video looks like a fair test of penetrants. Liquid Wrench and even WD-40 beat PB Blaster, although applying heat was even better. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUEob2oAKVs

Modern Alternative To Fire Extinguisers | 12° North Industries

How does it work? What is the principle behind the ability to put out fires? How does it's fire fighting abilities compare with traditional extinguishers?

    Sailing

I'm a life-long sailor and have sailed a number of dinghys, keel boats, and catamarans. My reason for joining XN was needing a good used truck to pull my sailboat to the many rivers and lakes here in central FL. Here's a pic of a Windrider 16 trimaran, actually a pair of them I recently picked...

    What else do you enjoy?

i've got a Sig 5.56 AR pistol with an arm brace, I think Sig invented the "arm" brace. Been looking at a shorty shotgun by Black Aces, their Mini https://www.gunsamerica.com/Listings/ItemDescriptionPage.aspx?ListingID=941188401 Already have a shotgun so don't really need it, just looks cool...

    What else do you enjoy?

Love the Ruger pistols. I have a stainless pistol like yours except 6-3/4" tapered barrel, which is one of my most accurate and fun pistols to shoot. That AK looks like fun. Did you have to get a tax stamp for that short barrel?

    Jumping In.

Thanks to all, think I got it now. I'll take some pics later cuz it's raining now (rains daily in FL). My OEM locking ring looks much like ffxcores above except it's black and the tubular part in the back is twice as long - the tube part extends to the back of the little fins. So I cut 1/2 of...

    What else do you enjoy?

I've been a sailboat nut most of my life. Raced dinghys and a few big boats in college, Windsurfing in the 80's and 90's, owned a couple of fast catamarans, and recently got this Windrider trimaran, which is the easiest and most laid-back sailboat I've sailed.

Comparing yours to what I bought, my fan is much larger diameter and will not fit inside the back of the locking ring. Guess I bought a different part than you guys - hope it lasts ok.

SoNevXTruck I apologize for messing up your thread. The 3rd pic shows the only way it could work, same as you're saying. Guess I'll just cut off 1/2 of the back collar of the locking ring so the bulb can seat all the way in.
