Picked up one of the newest versions of the Bailout recently. I'm not sure why I never purchased a Bailout before because it is now probably close to one of my favorite BMs, right there next to the 940. I threw a Lynch clip on it, to match the coating on the blade.

As @Prime suggested, top off the coolant, then drive it for a couple of days and top it off again.

Is the thermostat actually OE or is it a different brand? Non-OEM thermostats don't get along with the Xterra very well. Did you place the pressure cap on your coolant reservoir and the non-pressure cap on the radiator? How well is the system bled/burped?

Yes, I had them off for the install. It is a hollow box that comes off with the entire door panel.

Installed the door MOLLE panels from @GreyDuck this weekend. A few years ago, I ordered the panels from Nisstec, not realizing my 2015 had the updated door panel. Obviously, the panels didn't fit and I returned them. I worked with Nisstec and Hep's at the time to see if they would bring panels...
