IT'S BACK!

After months of fighting my 3pack AAL and dealin with never ending shackle inversions, I've reverted back to my PML.

Will have to repaint those shackles when i paint the underside this weekend.

After measuring the eyes of the 3pack and the stock of the spring set, I found something Rey interesting.

The three pack set the eyes apart by 48.75" where as the stock pack sat at 49.50". Now I didn't think less and an inch would matter till I did a little more research.

48.75" angle

49.50" angle

This angle at full drop was causing my shackles to invert and this an annoying and terrible ride.

I opted to try addin in the smallest leaf from the 3pack to test the ride feel while hopefully fixing any sag. I'll run it for a wee or two and see how I like it.

QUESTION:
The fsm states that trucks manufactured before 3/02 must have units torqued to 80~ ft/lbs, where trucks manufactured after that date must be torqued to 35~ ft/lbs.

Mine was manufactured on 5/02 so I followed the latter. My worry is, does this sound right to you?

Haha thanks man. She's getting there. Have to repaint the shackles and might think of running a white paint bead around the edge of the rims.

Got my snorkel envy from you a couple months back, thanks for the idea.

Still need to build up some sliders and pick up some front ad rear steel.

The 33" though will fill out the wheel wells nicely when I get them. Still trying to figure out if I want to pick up some 15" Steelies and tires (save some on the tires) or go with 16s and save my alloys.

Why not get some 15" alloys? Thats what I am going to be looking for..

Still need to sand it down and repaint them, as well as upgrade all the old bolts.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is one hell of a build. Been a while since I read it, just read it again start to finish. Great work and sweet rig, sir!

Scored a sweet deal on the TCase and Gas tank skid, but they just needed a little TLC.

Also been tying with the idea of removing my bumper cover again.

Cut some of the metal and added expandable metal for a little woodland protection. Painted it all black.

I like the no front bumper look.. seeing how I am also running that look. That being said, I wanted to run some expanded metal, but I wasn't sure if I should weld that to the back of my "front bumper" or not.

The rig looks great though, are you going to go with an upgraded centerlink? or just OEM? I know that Moog and Grassroots make great CL..

Whats up RW, Yeah i needed something in there to protect my radiator form the NE woods and sticks. Thats how I lost my AC one last year. I just zip tied it for now, if i really like it ill tack in in place.

Just going to go with an OEM CL for now. I know in two years I want to get serious with a SAS idea, so no need to toss money at a replacement.

I looked at the GR but thats a little much for the above reason, the Moog one is only $65, the BECK/ARNLEY are around $80. Still not sure which one i want to pull the trigger on yet.

Hahah, well you heard it first community, RW calls it.

Btw I do have a 3pack (minus the smallest leaf) laying around. Just the two largest leafs and the retainers.

Just in case the Decal on the hatch ever gets "misplaced" people will still know what just out-wheeled them on the trails! Love the rig man, it's coming along well!

Never put the snorkel head on. Ended up really liking the one I made up. Different thank the rest!

Just found a Chinese knock off on eBay. But it's fiberglass instead of the safari plastic so it doesn't bend we'll.

And if you look closely near the floor you might just see an overhead console..

:big-grin:

If someone ever tells you it's a little mess, slap them. Then slap your self for thinking it could be true.

I didn't want to concern my self with fabric so I just did spray on. Of I were to do it again, (which I might) I'd use roll on.

And for the console, it was a pita to get the brackets to line up. And trying to mount the headliner mounts (visor clips) that were located now under the console.
