What battery did you end up getting? Mine are getting a bit on in years so I'll need to do this, probably next year or so.

I wanted the 24F AGM interstate Battery. Luck would have it.. Non on shelf!!

Ended up with a Interstate Group 24F From Costco. $100.00 no sales tax! ;-)
Installed in parking lot.. NO beer was used to install Battery.. 10 minutes & socket set.

Battery was slow cranking and dropping fast with Colder temps arriving.

Yeah Costco has been out of those AGM’s for months. I’ve been checking there periodically for a long time.

Our two cars both have Interstates from Costco. Can’t beat the warranty they have.

If i could have waited.. would hold off, for a AGM Battery.. Was lucky to be able to fire it back up after 12 hours sitting. haha.

No more worries of dead battery. BUT do have Back up Jumper.

Installed this little guy in my X tonight. I still need to get a new battery, but at least this will keep the old one topped off enough to work in the meantime.

Got my new battery and wired that battery charger to the fuse block that I had installed in the engine bay earlier this year. Much cleaner looking now.

Pit the Lucas oil engine treatment into full tank again. Does this stuff actually work? Probably not gonna buy it again.
I use it once a month. I buy it by the gallon and refill the little containers myself. If I think my system is really dirty, I use a heavy dose of Seafoam or two.

I also mainly run BP/AMACO or Citgo gasses. They are top tier with detergents and other treatments added when they are produced.

I was gonna use it every oil change.

They say it works. I haven't seen any proof but their's that it does. But I haven't seen any proof that it doesn't. It gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling and I think it helps so I keep doing it.

I know Seafoam works from seeing what it breaks loose in the lanterns I use it in and a heavy dose improved the way my old truck ran after a couple years of neglect. Also adding it to the oil improved the way the engine is running and really smoothed up the idle.

Touched up the paint with some zymol cleaner/wax. Does pretty good job at getting scratches off. Will have to do the whole car sometime..

I got the Rotopax mount for my Maxterra Hi-Lift. I’m trying it out on the big trip this weekend, and then if no changes I’ll drop it off for blasting and powder coating Monday.

It should hold up to about 100 pounds, which is way more than I need. I’m going to carry a 2-gallon water and 3-gallon gas. It’s adjustable up/down and a little bit front/back. It has a spot for a rubber bump stop to squeeze against the tire and prevent vibration, but that messes with the Rotopax placement, so I put it under one of the mount nuts.

Picked up a set of polypropylene cutting boards for $10 at Target, and used the middle one for a splash shield for the air compressor. Took a lot of heat to get it to finally bend so I could shape it, but between just the shape and zip tying the handle, it doesn’t move at all. Wish it looked a little better, but at least it worked this past weekend and kept it clean.

Also did the new crank sensor today and transferred over the battery connector's from Odo . Repaired the electric line's for the light bar and rear plastic corner light's . They came up along side the battery from underneath and were squished tight and had to be cut out after playing chicken with the tree !!
Next is to learn how to operate the new remote start/security system on that new rig

I hate I missed it but I didn't want to risk having to drive my Xterra out on a log as a left rear wheel because the bearing went bad and the shaft walked out....

Dumped a bottle of sea foam in the gas tank at fill up today. Hopefully I can improve mileage a little bit. Currently at 14 with no tent or awning.

If you're into the LucasOil version of it, those are 2 for $9 at AutoZone currently.

What mileage are you at now? I can't find the thread where you brought this up.

Earlier this year I was able to get 15 with the tent. 14 on my last tank with no tent and no awning.

When did you install your intake? I’m wondering if that’s affecting your mileage somehow. I know they claim improved torque and HP but nothing about mileage. Have you been monitoring it before and after doing your exhaust too? For what they are, I’d expect better from both.

I mean total mileage on the vehicle.
Ha. My bad. Right under 90k.

Within the last two months. It had already gotten worse over the summer. I didn’t notice any difference in the immediate next tank after the CAI but it did improve slightly. I was also being conscious of how I was driving… with the exhaust and CAI I think I was heavier on the pedal for a while.
