Got home from work today and had a couple hours to do some mods in the Silverado that I’ve had sitting around. Since the weather is really nice today decided to install the new A-pillar lights

ordered the SDHQ a pillar light pods and just received them recently. So threw those on and then added and wired the lights. Still waiting for 6AWG ring terminals to arrive so still have no power to the Spod for now.

Also started working on the behind the grill light bar. As you can see from the pictures below you can see the air flaps I mentioned in a previous post

Well finished up fabricating the behind the grill bracket. Took a bit of trial and error with putting the grill back on but finally got it after a couple hours of Messing around with it. Also finally wired up the 6AWG wire from the battery to the spod controls box. Now everything is working. (Will definitely clean up the wires next time I work on the truck. Kids are getting cranky and I don’t have time to fix the wires right now)

Well it’s been a while since I’ve updated this thread ( and since I’ve driven my trucks)

Since being away for an extended business trip. I’ve had some time to look at some of the mods I want to do when I get home

for now. Thinking one of these head ache racks:
https://magnumtruckracks.com/shop/truck-racks/magnum-sport

Going to be ordering one of these hidden winch plates as well
https://www.roughcountry.com/gm-hid...tml?find=2017-chevy-silverado-1500-4wd-739399

And also thinking about upgrading my tonneau cover with a backflip roll up hard covers.

Well. While enjoying my second cup of coffee this morning. My CC pretty much caught fire.

ordered the Rough Country hidden winch plate
https://www.roughcountry.com/gm-hidden-winch-mounting-plate-11004.html

As well as a Runva 11 000 lb winch with synthetic line from Costco. Now need to go order a front licence plate bracket because stupid Ontario Canada requires you to have a front licence plate.

Now the hard part. Trying to make up my mind on what model headache rack to get. Both are made from the same company and both are aluminium with a total weight of 35 lbs.

The big question is 1 light per side or 2.

Any advice/ opinions?

The one with two lights would be easier to source replacements from truck stops or farm stores.

Why have lights at all? I think I would prefer a simple setup without them myself.

It’s because the low profile models pictured block the 3rd break light and is at the same height as the roofline. The ones with no lights are around 3” taller to not block the 3rd break light.

As well it was nice enough today so I wired up some emergency strobe lights since I am such a shiat magnet. Will add some strobe lights to the headache rack in the spring.( it will give me time to order more as well as plan where I am going to I stall them). Possibly look into getting a trafic advisor, still on the fence about it

Well here’s a bit of an update on this build

want to add a winch control switch inside the cab Of the truck. From the lite use from the other night proved to me that the wireless controller has its limitations and that I would really like to have a hard mounted controller inside of the cab. So took the center console apart to se of one of there switches would fit

well i Tried to move the dual USB port over to where the 120v plug sits i realized that i would need to do a bit of cutting to allow me to swap over the dual USB over to the passenger side. As well the cut out for the USB ports is too big for this switch

now I’m reconsidering my options to run some sort of a switch

use one of these brackets and attempt to hide all of the required wires to make as professional of an install as possible
8F74CE5F-94E7-42EC-B492-F769A903C8AD.jpeg
or upgrade to entire switch pod for one that will allow a momentary function
something like this one

or leave things alone and just use the contrle that came with the winch
