2wd Trans To 4wd Tcase

search feature is being a pain or not using correct terms. I've seen others cut to 2wd trans output shaft to used the tcase during a 4wd conversion. Free 2000 xterra with sub 10k new trans. Already got all the 4wd parts headed in cheap and going to do this shortly just curious of how much of tail shaft to slice off. Thanks

I'm currently interested in converting my 2000 5-speed manual RWD to a 4x4 and have no idea what I'm getting myself into.
