Awesome! You will become addicted! My very first mods were painting the plastic too and it is relatively cheap and easy (although somewhat time consuming).

I used Rustoleum bed liner in a rattle can. The gritty texture is a little more forgiving for if you don't have a super even spray. Wash them, wipe them, let them dry. Light sanding and wipe up any dust. Spray 2-3 coats and let dry before reinstalling.

Just like Rob said washed, dried and sprayed. I didnt sand anything. I used brake caliper paint because I did the wheels too and figured it would hold up a little better on them

My wife has a yellow 2002 that I bought her for an anniversary present in 2006. Still with us, despite having been wrecked TWICE by my eldest daughter, after we let her take it off to college with her. After a rebuild, it's still a heck of a nice truck. Good luck with yours!

BTW - looks like you need to add a receiver hitch to that truck.

since this thread is getting some traffic again I wonder if I can get some help.

A few weeks ago I was running some errands and it started to sputter. I though I had a plug fowling out so I headed home. I didn't make it it shut off on me. While the gage said it had gas I go some anyway and it still wouldn't fire. I had it towed to a small shop. The guy called me and said the fuel pump is good its not getting any fire and he's a 1 man 1 bay shop he can't handle replacing the timing belt.

I had it towed to another shop and they haven't looked at it yet but the owner who I know said if it jumped time or the belt broke it should have just shut off and there is a sticker under the hood from another shop saying it was done about 40,000 miles ago.

So any ideas?

Thats on my list, along with moving the spare

Check the cap and rotor for excessive carbon fouling. Had a similar problem with our X once, and that was the reason.

I agree above. Check your cap first, basics. Make sure the wires are all in place, etc. Id bet its a distributor/cap type issue. Turn the key. Can you hear the pump run?

It was the distirubtor. Also my state inspection sticker is up and turns out my parking lights are out and blow the fuse anytime they are on
Check around the towing harness. Many times an improperly installed connector or one of the cheap harness adapters will cause that issue with the lights. My pickup got that way shortly after I bought it and I had to completely remove the towing harness adapter to fix it.

Whatever is there is stock i don't have a hitch assembly yet. Either way I know the guys at the garage its at. The owner knows I work in electronic security and he called to ask me if I wanted to deal with it or let them. I told him car wiring diagrams are written in a completely different language then other stuff, have at it! I think he was hoping I would deal with it lol
